Chapter 236
Walton Corporation’s current growth trajectory was nothing like what it used to be.
Aurora organized all the materials, bundled them into a single file, and sent it directly to John, along with a short message:
“Mr. John, please give me a chance. You won’t be disappointed.”
John was in the middle of a meal and initially had no intention of responding.
But something about her message tugged at his curiosity.
It gnawed at him. Before he knew it, he’d already opened the file.
When Aurora saw the notification that he received the document received and knew she was halfway there.
Sure enough, half an hour later, a message came in from John.
“Miss Walton, my assistant just informed me that I’m free that day. You have my word–I’ll be there on time.”
Seeing his reply, Aurora’s lips curled into a faint smile.
She had been confident he’d come around.
But she didn’t respond right away. She waited a good ten minutes before typing a reply.
Timing was everything.
She had to know when to press forward and when to step back.
She’d learned early on that in business, it was sometimes wise to let others believe they held the advantage–but the upper hand
should never be fully surrendered.
It was one of the most valuable lessons she had learned since joining Walton Corporation.
Finally, after a deliberate pause, she replied, “Great. I’ll send you the venue details.”
John replied instantly with a thumbs–up emoji.
A quiet deal was struck between them.
As for what was truly exchanged in their conversation, only the two of them knew.
With that handled, Aurora turned her attention to the upcoming banquet.
Since she had decided to host, she couldn’t just invite John alone.
She planned to extend the invitation to some of Ravenshore’s most well–known business figures–most of whom had partnered
with Walton in the past.

That was why Aurora sent out those vitations.
At first, Grace was puzzled by her decision.
But after hearing Aurora’s reasoning, she didn’t say much more.

“Madam Grace, I know hosting a banquet takes time and effort, but if it succeeds, it’ll significantly boost Walton’s reputation,”
Aurora said calmly.
She paused, then added, “More importantly, the real purpose is to win over our overseas client, John York.”
She had scheduled John’s trip to coincide with the event, hoping it would also give him a better feel for Ravenshore.
Tomorrow, she still needed to inspect the venue. Time was running short, and there was no room for delay.
Aurora had no bandwidth to think about anything else.
Her focus was fully locked on this project.
After all the time that had been wasted before, she needed to make up for it.
As a result, she hadn’t even been home the past few days. She’d been staying in the company’s lounge every night.
Time flew, and soon, the day she was set to meet John arrived.
Long before that, Aurora had already sent out all the invitations.
All that was left now was for John to arrive at the venue.
The most prominent business figures in Ravenshore had gathered at the banquet.
When Aurora and John walked in together, all eyes turned toward them.
It didn’t take long for the crowd to recognize the man beside her–John York, director of the overseas firm LC.
Not only was he influential, but his reputation preceded him.
Many had tried to get close to him with little success.
