The assistant on the other end was polite and quickly got to the point: “Hello, on behalf of Mr. Warren, we’d like to offer you a
chance. Our two companies can meet tomorrow.”
Aurora was stunned when she read the message.
What was going on?
Just a while ago, David had made it clear there wasn’t the slightest hope for cooperation.
Why the sudden change?
Unable to hold back, Aurora asked the assistant about it directly.
But the other party was professional and didn’t reveal Desmond’s involvement.
“Mr. Warren was moved by your sincerity, Miss Walton. Considering the years of business relations, he has decided to give
Walton Corporation another chance. We hope Walton won’t let him down.”
Reading the message, Aurora finally relaxed. The tight knot between her brows began to ease, and the heavy weight that had been
sitting on her chest the past few days started to lift.
She sent back a simple “Thank you” and turned off her phone.
Now, she was looking forward to tomorrow.
She understood very well–once she won David over, the others would be much easier to deal with.
David ran one of the top supply companies in Ravenshore. Everyone followed his lead.
So, all she needed was to secure him.
The rest–she’d leave to him.
Still…
The smile on Aurora’s face faded slightly. David had a reputation for being notoriously difficult to work with.
What changed this time? Was he really moved?
She took a deep breath, letting the tension drain from her shoulders.
Whatever it was, she’d find out tomorrow.
The next day, Aurora arrived at the agreed location.
When Aurora arrived, David and his assistant had yet to show up.

She sat down and waited for a while, ordering two pots of tea in the meantime.
She remembered reading in his profile that David was a tea enthusiast.
When David finally walked in, the first thing he saw was Aurora already seated at the table, a gentle aroma of tea wafting through
the air.
The scent alone put him in a pleasant mood.
“Mr. Warren, good to see you,” Aurora greeted warmly, rising to shake his hand.
David had originally planned to be perfunctory about this meeting, but then he remembered that certain someone from
Vanguard.
His attitude shifted instantly into one of sincerity.
He still didn’t know what exactly Aurora’s connection was to that person, and he dared not make any careless moves.
Otherwise, he risked losing more than he bargained for.
Aurora, noticing David’s unusually warm demeanor, couldn’t help but feel puzzled. Was this really the same man who’d been so
dismissive before?
A seed of suspicion quietly planted itself in her heart.
After all, David wasn’t the kind of man to flatter others.
But today, his attitude had taken a complete one–eighty.
“Let’s get to the point, Mr. Warren,” she said, leaning her arms lightly on the table.
“The main purpose of this meeting is to clear up the misunderstanding and hopefully rebuild our partnership.”
“Of course,” David replied with a faint smile, taking a slow sip of his tea.
Aurora studied him carefully. “There’s something I’m curious about. What made you terminate the contract with us?
“If it was because of the online rumors, you didn’t seem that angry at the time. We still had a chance to explain. But then later…”
Looking at the confusion on her face, David’s expression turned a little more serious.
He started to wonder if maybe, just maybe, he’d gotten it wrong from the beginning.
