Chapter 159
When Aurora got up, she saw Wendy sitting at the dining table, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Lucas.
“Wow, Lukey, I didn’t expect to taste your cooking again today. I’ve missed it so much!”
Wendy exclaimed dramatically, “You have no idea, the stuff overseas is practically inedible. None of it tastes right. Home is still the best. And especially Lukey’s cooking.”
But Lucas remained expressionless. “Don’t touch anything. Wait till your sister–in–law gets up.”
Wendy pouted but, under his gaze, reluctantly put down the piece of fried egg.
From the corner of her eye, she saw Aurora,
The woman didn’t say a word.
She just stood there quietly, like an outsider watching it all unfold.
Wendy then walked over to her and, feigning intimacy, hooked her arm through Aurora’s. “My dear sis–in–law, look at all the
delicious food Lukey made. Don’t stay upset anymore.
“If you ask me, you really are lucky. Lukey’s looks and background are both top–tier, and he even knows how to cook. Isn’t that the way to a woman’s heart?”
Her words made Aurora raise an eyebrow slightly without realizing it.
She pulled her arm away without hesitation and scoffed. “If he’s that great, I suppose you’ve fallen for him too, haven’t you?”
Wendy looked a little stunned.
Even Lucas gave Aurora a disapproving look. “Aurora, Wendy and I are just like siblings. Nothing more.”
Wendy’s smile faltered at his comment, a subtle twitch tugging at the corner of her brow
She clenched her fists unconsciously.
It was fine.
She would take her time to make him fall for her.
Wendy quickly adjusted her
Lukey already try to mal pression and smiled. “I know you’re still bothered about what happened yesterday, but didn’t
it up to you today?”
“So, have you fallen for him?”
Aurora stood tall and straight, facing the two of them calmly, and repeated what she had just asked.
Her eyes were serene, unreadable, as if all she wanted was a simple answer.

Wendy let out a dry laugh. “Oh, come on. Laikey is so outstanding, of course a lot of women like him.”
“And what about you?”
Aurora’s gaze sharpened like a hawk, locking onto Wendy’s eyes.
Wendy looked away, cursing Aurora countless times in her heart.

Why did this woman have to say something like that right now?
“Hah, whatever.”
Aurora glanced at Lucas, casually brushing her hair back as she spoke in an offhand tone, “See? You think of her as a sister, but
she only wants to be your sweetheart.”
Without caring how either of them reacted, Aurora turned and walked off.
The two of them were playing house in the living room–If she said anything more, she’d only come off as the jealous one.
Aurora figured that, at the very least, she should have some sense when it came to this marriage.
Wendy quickly turned to Lucas, anxiously explaining, “Lukey, I didn’t mean it like that. She misunderstood me! Oh no, it’s all my
fault. If I hadn’t come, none of this would’ve happened. I…”
“It is your fault.”
Lucas cut her off coldly, his sudden words silencing her completely.
She had been planning to play the victim a little longer, but she hadn’t expected him to say that
When she looked up, her eyes met Lucas‘ cold, dark gaze.
It startled her so badly she shivered.
“Lukey…”
