Lucas was puzzled. He couldn’t describe how was he feeling, but he didn’t feel too comfortable.

But, oh well. This might be for the best.

He was actually afraid that Yasmeen would bother him while he was working.

Joseph saw Lucas walking back alone, he couldn’t help but ask, “What did you say to Yasmeen?”

“Nothing much.”

Lucas wasn’t in high spirit.

And Joseph was surprised.

He thought that Lucas liked Yasmeen. Did they fight again?

“Lucas, Yasmeen has a very different identity now. You shouldn’t fight with her like before. Dad and Uncle Steven have quite a good relationship, you…”

“Brother, stop nagging. Why should I fight with a girl? Don’t worry, nothing happened between us.”

Lucas went to the monitoring cabin after saying that.

Joseph stared at Lucas as he walked away. He didn’t know if Lucas was saying the truth. But since Lucas said so, he probably didn’t fight with Yasmeen.

Joseph felt reassured when he realized this.

The work coming up was done systematically, but doing checkups for all the casualties would take roughly two days. During this time, Nicole could only wait at the hospital on the battlefield for news.

She was worried and wanted to go look for Samuel, but she also knew that she needed to wait until the medical report for the casualties were out before she could leave. She was also still waiting for Alison’s news.

Lucas and Joseph had been working overtime to do the checkups.

Morty arranged two people who knew how to work with computers to assist Lucas, but Lucas still had to do most of the programming work.

He practically lived and slept in the monitoring cabin.

When Yasmeen was on her break, she realized that Lucas never left the monitoring room. She frowned and flagged down a guard. She told the guard, “Give the people in the monitoring room more food, they have heavier duties than us.”

“Yes, princess.”

The guard quickly left.

Lucas noticed someone bringing him food. He didn’t bother asking who it was that had arranged the food. He said thank you and started eating it.

During his meal, his eyes never left the screen. His nice-looking eyes were turning red.

The assistants sent over by Morty couldn’t stand it anymore. Lucas let them go rest for a while.

The clock ticked and days passed by slowly. Lucas and Joseph didn’t sleep much, and the thing they were worried about happened in the end.

“Two patients were infected. We cannot know what they have been infected with yet. I’ve asked someone more experienced and we all thought it could not be bugs. The preliminary analysis tells us that it is a viral infection.”

Joseph’s face turned grim.

The doctors who did the checkups were all outstanding doctors from renowned hospitals all over the country. Everyone looked sombre.

“Send more guards around the area. In times like this, we don’t want a riot to happen. We cannot let the people leave either, to prevent them from bringing the virus into the country.”

The head of the security guards of the area gave out their order.

Even though they explained and promised that they would very soon find out the origin of the virus, the two people who were infected got really agitated.

“We want to go home! If you cannot find out what it is in time, we will die here. Even if we die, we want to meet our families!”

At that moment, everyone looked at Yasmeen differently.

Even though Lucas, Joseph and Yasmeen were still young, they were very capable. So, everyone chose to stay quiet.

Yasmeen almost choked on her own blood.

She thought that Lucas wanted to make peace with her. She never thought that he still hated her so much.

Yasmeen frowned deeply and said with a cold expression, “Isolate those two and continue observing the rest.”

The news about the infection reached Nicole’s ears. Her heart skipped a beat.

She knew that right now, not only that she couldn’t leave the area, but the whole hospital, including the nurses and doctors, had to be isolated.

Nicole quickly told Morty the news.

Morty had to set up a new hospital in another area. The hospital under Nicole became an isolation ward.

Throughout the night, Nicole got blisters on her mouth.

She was worried about Samuel and Tim. She was also worried about the people from the Night Elf Empire and Sky Group. Would they be alright? But she couldn’t do anything right now. She had to stay here and be isolated.
