“Grandpa, are you going to do something?”
Lucas held Xander’s hand.
That soft little hand and worried eyes instantly warmed Xander’s frozen heart. If Nicole had grown up around him, she would probably be like this too.
In fact, Lucas was quite like Nicole.
Xander stroked Lucas’s head and said gently, “Don’t worry about grown-up stuff. Be good. Grandpa is still waiting for you to bring Mr. Morty to my rescue.”
Hearing this, Lucas’s heart was troubled, but he nodded quickly.
“Grandpa, you must wait for me to come back.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for you.”
Xander looked at Lucas with fondness and kindness in his eyes.
Lucas turned around and ran without any hesitation.
He knew there was a phone booth near here, and he had to notify Morty to come immediately. Lucas now had no communication tools as his mobile phone had been handed over on the way out.
He had always felt that he didn’t need a mobile phone, but now he realised that he was wrong.
As Xander watched Lucas leave, he couldn’t withdraw his gaze for a long time.
This was his grandson, and he had his blood in him!
He would definitely make a name for himself in the military in the future!
Xander said in a low voice, “Barge all the way into the basement below.”
“Yes.”
The few people moved quickly.
Those guards were simply no match for Xander’s men.
Xander walked in as quickly as if he had entered his own place.
He went inside in a familiar way, found the switch in the study and led the men straight into the basement.
No one knew that the Shaffer family’s training ground actually had such a basement, and the scene inside the basement was unsettling.
It was like a second Elvis’s research base, with animal and human limbs and skeletons everywhere.
Xander and the others furrowed their brows tightly.
They had been staying with this smell for decades. It was engraved in their memories, giving them the chills down their spines.
How many days and nights they had gone through that were worse than death.
Now seeing that there were still people working on this, Xander’s eyes suddenly went red.
“Destroy everything here!”
Seeing all this, Xander was even more sure that Eaton had been kidnapped and brought here.
“Find Eaton at all costs and bring him out safely!”
“Yes!”
Everyone spread out quickly.
Xander took the brunt of the search, going from room to room, but still couldn’t find Eaton. Instead, he found Cara, who was dying already.
He knew about Cara. Since he returned, he had investigated everyone around Nicole, including Cara.
On his way here, Xander had investigated all the things that had happened to Nicole during this period. And it was only then he found out about the affair between Cara and Laurence.
He was unsure that Cara would work for the Close family and hurt Laurence. But the fact confused him.
Cody Shaffer was dumbfounded when Xander came out.
“Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be in Country F?”
To Cody Shaffer’s attitude, Xander said coldly, “I think it’s none of your business that where should I be.”
“Mr. Morty, a person was rescued from below. It’s Cara and her current situation is very bad. I hope Mr. Morty can give a helping hand.”
Xander brought Cara out.
Mr. Morty frowned instantly.
He knew Cara’s identity, and even more so what had happened recently. Cara was related to the Close family. Now that she was found in Cody Shaffer’s training ground, things were going interesting.
Mr. Morty happened to be unsure of how to have a falling-out with the Shaffer family, and Xander’s move had undoubtedly given Mr. Morty a good chance.
“Mr. Shaffer, shouldn’t you explain why Cara is in your place?”
Cody Shaffer was chagrined but still said coldly, “How would I know? Who is this person?”
“You don’t know who she is and yet appeared at your training ground. It seems that I’m bound to go in and have a look. Someone please send Cara to Blair for medical treatment, and no one is allowed to go near her without my orders. The others follow me in to see what’s really in Mr. Shaffer’s training ground.”
“Yes!”
Mr. Morty forced his way in, and Cody Shaffer couldn’t even stop him. He glared fiercely at Xander and said in a voice that only the two could hear, “As long as you help me stop Mr. Morty from going in, I’ll let you see Eaton!”
Xander narrowed his eyes fiercely.
Sure enough!
Xander’s piercing stare at Cody Shaffer scared him into subconsciously taking a step back.
“Xander, you better think clearly. If you don’t help me now, I guarantee that you and your daughter will never see Eaton again in your life! I’ll do what I say! At worst, we die together!”
Cody Shaffer noticed that he was falling back under the Xander’s sight and couldn’t help but feel angry, speaking viciously.

The book is slow....too many words are wasted to explain...need a better translator.......
God I want to read the book but it's freaking annoying, Samuel Green, Nicole Bush, Lucas Bush, Jacob Brown in every line.....I hope this author grows...the book would have been okay but it's affecting my mood...
Does the author have write the full names of the characters all the time...it's annoying...we are reading the book, we know their surnames already.......
What is it with Chinese authors. The characters are slow, he finally opened his mouth, it took him so long just to say two words...the house keeper would have put the person out before he even spoke....is this really how people are over there..the characters are always lost in thought, they might as well live in their heads.....
