My Human (Kane and Tessa) novel Chapter 127

Kane’s POV

“He understands right? He won’t fuck this up? If he gets caught it wil be a fucking disaster for us!” My worry leaks out as I rant aloud, with it being the next day and I still hadn’t slept since the day Tessa had gone missing.

My eyes burned for me to rest but my pride was far greater than anything else. I wouldn’t stop until Tessa was back with me and that was final!

Kion better pray that his little spy manages to get her out of there safely or it will be his head on the line…

There was no option for failure with this for if they get caught it would be detrimental for everyone involved!

“Kane bro, I think that you should try and get some sleep… it’s still morning and they won’t get out of there until tonight anyway. Worrying isn’t going to get you anywhere and neither will being a tired Alpha with no energy you already aren’t making sense.” Anthony suggests, as wave him off and continue to mumble inaudible to myself from irritation and stress.

“I’m serious here Kane! Look at you! You’re a mess!” Anthony presses his concern further, as I suddenly halt in my steps to face him.

“Even if I wanted to get some sleep, I still wouldn’t be able to get it! I grumble, knowing that it was true since that was exactly what had happened to me throughout the night…

All I did was lay there wide awake and worrying over shit that I can’t currently control!

“You at least need to try for a couple of hours, we will stay awake for you- look at it like that!” Seth adds in, as I nod and groan out loudly.

Maybe they are right… I don’t quite feel myself… I feel like a mad man who is wanting to rip my own hair out from the root!

As Anthony and Seth’s truthful words sank in, a part of me knew that they were right. I couldn’t afford to be a sleep–deprived mess when the time came to taking important action.

I needed to be on high alert – especially here in Russia. A lack of sleep will only help me to do the opposite of that I wasn’t a fool.

But the thought of resting while Tessa was still trapped in Dimitri’s pack gnawed at me like a relentless beast continuing to taunt me. I felt guilty for allowing myself to rest when she was currently in a far worse position than me…

“I know that I need to rest!” I admitted finally, “but I physically can’t, not knowing that Tessa is still stuck over there living through fuck only knows what sort of hell – my mind just won’t shut off regardless of how tired I feel!” I complain to them, as they listen intently.

Anthony and Seth both nodded in understanding before Anthony made a move towards a small wash bag of his as though getting an

idea…

He unzipped it, seeming to rummage through the contents before revealing a small packet of pills to me in his fingers.

“I have something here that might help. One pill is strong enough to knock us wolves out for at least some hours to get the sleep that we need in stressful times – I gave Seth one last night too!” Anthony explains, walking towards me with it in hand as I take it to inspect.

“Yeah and it worked a treat! I feel much better today after getting rest – you need it too Kane!” Seth chimes in, backing up his point as I take the pills and eye them curiously.
