My Human (Kane and Tessa) novel Chapter 111

The first rays of morning sunlight streamed through the narrow window of our cramped cell, casting a faint glow over the cold, metal walls surrounding us.

I blinked awake, the events from the previous day flooding back to me with a thick sense of dread accompanying it

Erin lay on the mat across from me, still asleep, her face drawn and pale with exhaustion. I couldn’t help but worry for her, knowing that she was just as frightened and uncertain as I was about our current situation.

I was sickened to have her sleeping once again on a hard floor just as Leo had made her do back at Kane’s pack but unfortunately it was out of my hands not to mention that it was currently the least of both of our worries

As I rose from my position and stretched my stiff muscles, I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that settled over me. The Russian pack had made it clear from the moment of our arrival that we were prisoners here, trapped in a foreign land with no means of

escape.

But despite the grim circumstances, I refused to give in to despair. We would learn to make this work in order to survive, perhaps be able to win over the males to actually like us a little? Maybe we would be treated better

Erin stirred from beside me, groaning softly as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

Morning, she mumbled, her voice hoarse with exhaustion.

Morning,I replied, forcing a smile despite the fear that continued to gnaw away at my insides. How did you sleep?I push on.

Erin shrugged, her expression grim. Not great, she admitted. But I guess that’s to be expected in a place like this. She sighs heavily.

I nodded in understanding, imagining all too well the horrors that awaited us outside these cold, metal walls if they even decide to let us out of here that is!

What if this was the plan? Lock us up to rot for their own amusement?

I gulp at the thought, making a silent vow to stay strong for the both of us, before I helped Erin to her feet and our stiff legs.

both stretched

FEMALES! OUT NOW!We practically squeal when hearing a heavy Russian accent yell from the other side of our door, causing us to both huddle up together in fear of where we were going.

With that, the jingling of keys is heard before the heavy door is dragged open revealing the armed guard and his stale facial

features.

YOU TWO! FOLLOW ME FOR BREAKFAST!He points at us and yells louder than necessary as we both nod like bobble heads.

We take wary steps, following him down the winding corridors that all looked the same as he turned back to ensure that we were both still behind him every once in a while

Eventually, we approached two doors with a sign above that read canteenas the guard suddenly stepped aside and motioned with his hand for us to go in.

We moved slow and cautiously, hearing a flurry of activity from behind the doorsas Erin made the first move to push open the door.
