Seeing that Teresa remained silent, Jennifer pressed on, “Jonathan is such a heartless bastard, and you’re still hung up on him? Just wait, when the truth about Mike comes out, Jonathan and Irene will be coming for you.”

With that final warning, Jennifer turned and walked out.

Teresa’s legs suddenly gave way beneath her. She slumped into a chair, forcing herself to calm down and think things through. She thought, “if one day I have to go to court with Jonathan over Mike, so be it.’

After leaving Teresa’s office, Jennifer sat down at a café across from Evelyn.

Jennifer looked at Evelyn with a blank expression and said coldly, “We have nothing to discuss. But since you insist, let me ask you: why would you bother clearing Jonathan’s name? Do you honestly think you matter to him at all?
