Chapter 336
Chapter 336
Teresa blurted it out in a burst of anger, even bringing up Irene a name that she rarely mentioned in front of Jonathan.
The moment she said it, her right eyelid wouldn’t stop twitching, like Irene was actually
ly lurking somewhere nearby.
Jonathan said, “Whatever’s going on between you and your sister, I’m just your ex. I don’t have any right to butt in.
“As for my mom, she came to you before because of Simona. I explained everything in the email, and you said you got it. I know you don’t want to see me. I’ll leave Nareigh. You don’t have to leave.”
But what really mattered to Jonathan was Teresa’s last words. “I don’t want to be tangled up with you anymore.”
Teresa looked into his eyes. “I’ve already left Nareigh.”
Jonathan said, “Just because you left doesn’t mean you can’t go back. I’ve been racking my brain trying to get you to return. You lived in Nareigh for so long. Me? I’m a guy. I can live anywhere. Why can’t you see that?”
But Teresa just said, “No. I’m not going back.”
She added, “My sister lives in Nareigh and so does your mom.”
She paused and then said, “When I left, I promised your mom I wouldn’t go back. She’d think I am still chasing after you.”
Jonathan frowned, “If my mom doesn’t want you to come back, that’s on her. I’ll talk to her. She can’t decide where you can or can’t go.”
Teresa said, getting impatient, “Neither your mom nor you has any right to tell me where I can go.”
Jonathan stared at Teresa.
Teresa continued, “It’s not like I need to stay in Everport. Honestly, that place in Jade Garden? I didn’t rent it–I bought it. I can leave Everport, but I need
to sell it first.”
She only bought the place so Michael could go to school there.
But Jonathan just thought she was being impulsive and not thinking things through.
Teresa said, “So after I sell the house, where should I go next? Just keep wandering? Silvar, Jarisburg? Where am I supposed to ‘accidentally‘ bump into you next time?
“Let’s just stop running into each other, okay? Honestly, you’re the last person I want to bump into.”
Jonathan was speechless.
Jonathan fought the urge to poke Teresa in the forehead. He reached out to her but soon put his hand back into his pocket.
He said, “If you really don’t want to see me again, go back to Nareigh. If you go back, I won’t have to worry about you anymore. No one dares to drug you and no idiot will try to mess with you there.”
In fact, it was Teresa’s fault for what happened between her and Ryan and Lysander.
She looked at Jonathan seriously. “I’ll be more careful from now on.”
