This is the men’s room,Jonathan replied, staring at her. He still couldn’t believe she was really there. Now that she was right in front of him, so close and real, all the anger he’d been feeling started to fade.

Teresa finally sensed that the restroom looked a bit different. The truth hit her, and she got scared, about to run out. Jonathan grabbed her wrist. You’re not even dressedwhere do you think you’re going?

There were footsteps outside. Jonathan moved fast, pulling Teresa into a stall and closing the door behind them.

In this spot, her back was against the wall. Jonathan looked down and saw the shape of her chest. Memories of that night came rushing back.

Teresa turned her head away, refusing to look at him. She thought, This is crazy. Why is Jonathan here? No, this has to be a dream. It must be.’

She pinched her arm hard and felt the pain. Am I not drea-Before she finished, Jonathan reached out and covered her mouth with his hand.

Two men’s voices drifted from the sinks.

It’s honestly a waste for Teresa to just be a grade school teacher. With those legs, she should be a star.

Lysander’s totally in love with her.

Still, we wouldn’t dare say a word.

After the two guys left, Jonathan finally let go of Teresa’s mouth. She looked at him with disgust. Did you even wash your hands before covering my mouth?

Jonathan shrugged. I just took off my belt when I heard your voice. So I pushed the door open to see if it was youand sure enough, it was.”

Jonathan asked, Wait, those guys were talking about you? Are you teaching here now?

He had been in Everport for a while, but this was the first time he’d seen her.

I don’t know them,Teresa said quickly, not wanting Jonathan to know she had settled here. She wondered why he was here, but he didn’t say anything.

Teresa said, Can you give me my jacket? I need to leave.”

Jonathan frowned. He looked at her for a few seconds and handed her the jacket from the sink. His eyes stayed on her in that black bra, his gaze getting even darker.

He picked up her white shirt, still stained with blue wine. Jonathan frowned again, clearly unhappy.

As she and Jonathan left, Teresa finally looked at the signit really was the men’s room.

Teresa pulled her phone from her jeans and texted her coworkers: [Not feeling well. Heading home. Have fun!]

She had just sent the message when Jonathan had already taken off his jacket and draped it over her, making sure she wouldn’t get cold.

He kept her damp shirt in his hand. When Teresa reached for it, he just ignored her and kept walking.
