The Ex-Wife's Secret (Jonathan and Teresa) novel Chapter 280

280.Chapter 280

Mr. Lynn, aren’t you heading back to your courtyard house?

I don’t feel like staying there alone.

Of course, Mr. Lynn, the driver replied.

While Jonathan was drowning his sorrows at the bar, Teresa and Michael had spent all night waiting in line. As the first rays of dawn touched the fluttering red flag, Michael’s wish came true, and he watched the flagraising ceremony with sparkling eyes.

Seeing Michael so happy warmed Teresa’s heart. She took him to explore the museum, and they grabbed breakfast afterward. To her surprise, Michael, who was usually so picky, actually liked the local drink. Teresa, on the other hand, found it hard to stomach.

They planned to stay one more night in Jarisburg before heading back to Everport. With both cities checked off their list, Teresa thought about their next trip. She tried her best to give Michael a happy childhood, taking him on three trips a year.

Relaxing in the hotel room, Teresa let out a sigh of relief. Jonathan can’t be in Jarisburg too, right?she thought, trying to reassure herself.

Michael was already fast asleep, his little face looking so peaceful and sweet.

Teresa turned on the TV, uncorked a bottle of red wine, and poured herself a glass. Just as she was about to enjoy some quiet time, a familiar figure appeared on the

screen.

It was a financial news segment, likely a replay, and there was Jonathan. That face, etched deeply in her memory, was unmistakable.

The footage showed him at what seemed to be a business event. The camera zoomed in on his face. Jonathan, now thirty, had sharp features. His aura carried a refined maturity. He wasn’t dressed in flashy designer brands, yet his composed demeanor was magnetic.

Of course, part of the attention he garnered came from his immense wealth and

status.

The camera shifted again, showing a poised female executive seated beside him, chatting with him. He responded with a polite smile and a slight nod. The sight made Teresa’s chest tighten. Frustrated, she grabbed the remote and turned off the TV.

He’s doing just fine. There’s no point in me dwelling on it, she thought, her emotions a tangled mess.

Successfully unlocked!

Everyone seemed to be moving forward, and she needed to do the same. Teresa sipped her wine, but no matter how hard she tried, sleep wouldn’t come. Feeling restless, she decided to go out for a walk.

280.Chapter 280

It was a little past eleven at night, and the hallway was quiet. Teresa stepped off the elevator, planning to take a walk to clear her head.

With a soft chime, the elevator doors slid open. Jonathan, clearly drunk and disheveled, raised his head, his gaze locking onto Teresa’s.

In that instant, his calm yet turbulent eyes seemed to stir up a storm, shaking the stillness of the moment.

Teresa froze for a few seconds, her heart racing as she quickly looked away.

Snapping out of her daze, she hurried to leave, but Jonathan strode in, grabbed her wrist, and cornered her against the wall.

The elevator doors chimed softly again. Only then did Jonathan turn around and press the button for the top floor. The doors closed slowly, sealing them in the confined space where their breaths intertwined, heavy with tension.

You’re drunkTeresa mumbled, turning her head away as she struggled in his arms, Jonathan, however, firmly gripped her wrists, pinning them above her head.

Jonathan’s long fingers brushed against her face, his palm lingering on the smoothness of her skin as if trying to confirm something. You’re drunk. Let me go,” Teresa repeated, her voice tinged with frustration.

That toneimpatient, familiarit was unmistakably hers. Jonathan’s gaze locked onto her face, intense and searching, before he leaned down and silenced her protests with a kiss, his movements raw and possessive.

The elevator doors slid open, leading directly to his suite. Without hesitation, Jonathan carried her inside, his lips never leaving hers. The next moment, her back met the cool wall of the presidential suite as he pressed her against it.
