Lizzy hurried up the stairs, eager to find Felix. But the lobby required a swipe card to enter, and she was cardless. She had to call Felix.

"Felix, I'm downstairs at your company. Can you come get me, please?"

Felix furrowed his brows, "It's 2 AM. What are you doing here?"

"I made you some soup."

He went downstairs and, sure enough, saw Listina at the entrance. She was wrapped in a white down jacket, coincidentally one that Felix had bought her.

It was a purchase made from his hard-earned savings, marking the first time Listina had worn anything so expensive. She clung to his arm in excitement.

Back then, everything was so innocent, but now it seemed something had been lost and couldn't be found again.

Following him to the top floor of the company, Listina rubbed her hands for warmth, "Feels like the temperature dropped tonight; it's kinda chilly."

Her fingertips were red with cold.

"There's heating in my office."

"Great, I'll head to your office then. Felix, I think I need to get out more; can't be cooped up at home all the time. Could you find me a job here?"

She tried to link arms with him, but Felix instinctively sidestepped. Listina's face fell, but she pretended not to notice.

"I need to overcome my illness. If I meet more people, maybe I'll get better. What if I get more depressed staying home alone?"

After a moment's thought, Felix figured having her around the office wasn’t much of a hassle.

"Come by tomorrow."

"Felix, I knew you were the best!"

She giggled behind him, her lips curling.

They entered his office together. It was indeed warm.

"Here's the soup I made for you. Have some, alright? And you've got bags under your eyes; have you been pulling all-nighters?"

Felix hadn't been eating well lately, working overtime for a couple of days to get home earlier.

"Remember I used to make this soup for you? Have a few sips, and I'll head back."

Listina had set a trap there, and if Carol showed up, she'd never leave. A video of Carol, sexually assaulted, would soon spread across the internet. Just thinking about it sent a thrill through Listina.

Carol had just finished discussing the letter of understanding with Felix this evening, and he had left abruptly, presumably to be with Listina.

Maybe he had come to terms with everything after Listina's sweet talk. Her heart ached as she stepped out, heading for the address.

It was a 24-hour coffee shop in the city center. When she walked in, she found it deserted. Then, the door slammed shut behind her.

She turned to leave, but a gang of men emerged, each wielding a bat.

Carol stepped back, her face calm. The leader, surprised by her lack of screams, lunged without hesitation.

Two men grabbed Carol, throwing her onto a bed that had been set earlier - a makeshift bed with rumpled sheets.

Beside it stood a camera, and someone grabbed her chin, "Smile for the camera, Ms. Miller. We could make good money off this footage."

Carol stayed silent, well aware this was Listina's doing. Perhaps even Felix had consented.

After all, the Miller family owed the Geo family a life. If Felix sought revenge, and now tired of her, he'd chosen the cruelest way to do it. He wanted to strip her of her pride, to crush her, bit by bit.
