Suddenly, Melanie’s phone rang. She took a look at the notification on the screen and gently took a breath before she answered the phone call. “Hello? Teo?”

On the other end of the phone call, Mateo spoke with a very relaxed tone. “What are you busy with these days? You left in a hurry the last time, so there were many things that I wasn’t able to talk to you about. I doubt your husband would mind if we meet up in daylight this time, so why don’t we go out for a meal?”

Melanie was slightly aggrieved as she looked at Tiffany and Arianne before she agreed. “Sure, give me an address and I’ll be right there. Also, is it ok if I bring along my two friends? About last time… I’m really sorry, my husband has a strange temper.”

Mateo laughed as he said, “No worries, it’s understandable. In fact, I’m happy that he cares for you. It was my mistake for not thinking it through and calling you out at night. I’ll send you the address now, come over with your friends then.”

After the phone call got disconnected, Melanie went off to meet Mateo after calling Tiffany and Arianne along with her. The address that Mateo sent her was nearby where Melanie was at that moment, so she did not even need to waste any money to hail a taxi.

The more understanding Mateo was, the more Melanie felt embarrassed. ‘Compared to Alejandro, who’s petty, it’s even harder to interact with Mateo.’
