Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella) novel Chapter 698

Julia glanced around and suggested, “Maybe we should ask Mr. Quinn for help?”

Honestly, even in this whole city, nobody’s got more pull than Mr. Quinn.

Aileen nodded. “At this point, we really have no choice but to call your brother.”

Yvonne huffed, her jaw clenched. “God, if I ever get my hands on that bastard, I swear I’ll cut his balls off.”

Seriously, what a loser. Calling him a man is a stretch.

He’s got enough power that even the Waldorf wouldn’t dare cross him, so he must be someone important, right?

So why the hell would he sleep with a woman and then run off? Like, actually run away?

Aileen just smirked at Yvonne’s outburst. “Maybe he’s scared you’ll actually do it, and that’s why he bolted?”

Julia blinked. “…”

Yvonne’s eyes widened. “Excuse me?!”

Aileen shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s possible. If he saw how you handled Dan and Aira, he’s got every reason to stay hidden.”

Yvonne made a face like she’d just bitten into a lemon. She looked about as miserable as someone who just found a cockroach in their bagel.

Speaking of Aira…

Yvonne looked at Julia. “Don’t beat yourself up. If anything, you saved my ass last night.”

Honestly, she’d been out cold—if more than one guy had come at her, she’d have probably burned the whole damn city down.

One guy is bad enough, but a group? That’s a whole different nightmare.

Julia frowned. “Wait, what?”

Yvonne sighed. “Aira was planning something last night. She set up a whole crew waiting for me in Room 808 on the 65th floor.”

Thank God Julia had sent her to the 66th instead.

Still, who the hell was powerful enough to pull this off? There weren’t that many people in Ferrowland who could scare an entire hotel staff.

Julia’s eyes narrowed. “That bitch. She really tried to set you up?”

Aileen’s face hardened, too. “Unbelievable.”

Yvonne shrugged. “So, you kind of saved me last night, even if accidentally.”

Julia shot her a look. “So why didn’t you just put a bullet in her today?”

The driver’s window was all the way down, Xander’s arm draped over the side, a cigarette burning between his fingers.

There were already two butts on the sidewalk below—he’d clearly been waiting a while.

Ronald pulled up beside him, rolling his own window halfway down.

He looked over at Xander, studying him with a knowing, almost amused look.

“Waiting for Yvonne?”

Their eyes met, and Xander looked away, clearly annoyed.

Instead of answering, he asked in that low, cool way of his, “Does she still have feelings for Dan?”

Ronald raised a brow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It’s just… I can’t read her when it comes to him.”

Ronald was quiet for a second.

To be honest, he couldn’t figure it out either. Even as her brother, Ronald was never totally sure if Yvonne was as over Dan as she pretended to be.
