Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 514

"Alright, you've got my promise."

Ines finally settled on rose-scented wedding invitations, which released a rich aroma of roses upon being opened.

As Ines read out the names of the guests, Ethan wrote them down. Watching Ethan's beautiful handwriting, Ines felt enveloped in a halo of joy she knew as happiness.

With only a week left to their wedding, Ines, following the traditions of their city, had to return to her parents' home, the Galeana family. It was considered lucky to get married from your parents' house, and children were expected to go with their mother too.

Phillip was initially reluctant because he wouldn't see his grandchildren for a week, but he understood. As an older man, he held on to certain traditions, hoping they would bring good luck.

When they dropped Ines off at the Galeana house, Ethan looked somewhat reluctant. Ines laughed, "Ethan, is it really that bad? We're only apart for a week."

"Izzy, I think you're deliberately torturing me. I just healed from my injury, thinking the worst was over."

Ines understood what he meant. His back injury hadn't completely healed, so he could only hold her without doing anything else. It was almost like a torment.

Ines shrugged, "Honey, it's not my fault. I didn't know I had to go back to my parents' house until Erica told me."

Ethan was miserable but helpless. If Phillip was willing to let go of his grandchildren, he had no reason not to. "Well, I've endured it this far. I guess I can continue."

Since Ines was getting married from the Galeana family's house, Silas had the house redecorated. However, Ines' room was left untouched because she wanted to preserve her precious memories with her parents.

"Silas, I appreciate your taking care of Izzy and the kids for the next few days," Ethan said.

Silas clapped him on the shoulder. "Don't worry. I'll take good care of them. I'll make sure you get a beautiful bride."

Standing here, Ines felt as if she was in a dream. She had never imagined that she would make peace with the Galeana family and get married from their house.

"Silas, Ethan and I have decided to visit the cemetery and see my parents," she said. She wanted to tell her parents how happy she was and that she was getting married to the man she loved. She also wanted to introduce her children to them.

"Sure, I was thinking the same."

"Then we'll get ready and go. By the way, where is Emma? Is she still working overtime on Saturday?"

Silas shook his head, his expression was a bit strange, "No, she is currently with Jasmine in the baby's room."

Jasmine immediately laughed and reached out for Ethan. Her reaction to Ethan was far different from her reaction to her father.

Seeing Jasmine and Ethan playing together, Aiden looked envious. After a while, he left without saying a word.

As soon as he left, Emma burst into laughter. Eda asked, "Where did she bite him this time?"

"His neck," Emma replied.

"Good for Jasmine. She should teach him a lesson. Let's see how long he can stand it," Eda said, chuckling.

Ines playfully pinched the little girl's cheek. "With your fiery spirit, I bet no one would dare to bully you as you grow up. I don't need to worry about you at all."

What Ines didn't expect was that her words turned out to be prophetic. Jasmine never allowed anyone to bully her. In fact, she was the one who ended up intimidating others. Even her so-called father was always under her thumb, never daring to cross her. But, all of that is a story for another day.

The group gathered their belongings and headed straight to the cemetery. As she looked at the familiar names of her father and mother etched on the tombstone, Ines' eyes reddened and she couldn't utter a single word. Ethan, however, with a sincere and solemn expression, vowed, "To my dear in-laws, I promise to cherish Izzy all my life and ensure she lives worry-free."
