Hearing Erica say that, Ines also felt relieved. Ethan must have considered this aspect too, that was why he was so decisive. He did leave a bit of sentiment after all, not as heartless as he seemed.

"Mom, is Phillip okay?" The one Ines was most worried about was Phillip. Among the Meyer family, he was slightly special towards Silvia. The day they heard about Silvia's suicide, his face turned ugly instantly.

"He must be upset, but he's seen all sorts of people in his life, both good and bad. He's always been quite optimistic, he'll be fine in a few days. Don't worry too much. Your main task now is to take care of yourself." Erica said.

Ines let out a sigh of relief, "That's good."

Just then, Ines received a call from Jeffery, saying he had arrived at the airport. He estimated that he would arrive in A City around four in the afternoon, ready to come back and visit Joy's mom.

Ines wanted to pick him up, but Joy said she knew the way and didn't want to trouble her. She told her to rest well.

Ines thought about it and let it go, inviting them to have dinner at her house in the evening.

"What's up, who was on the phone?" Erica asked.

"My cousin, Jeffery. He and my sister-in-law are coming to A City today to visit his mother-in-law." Ines said with a smile.

"Oh, your aunt and uncle's son? The architect? I don't think I've met him before." Erica said.

Ines thought for a moment and said, "Why not come to our place for dinner? And you can meet my cousin and his wife."

Erica nodded, "Alright, I'll go straight to your place later. I'll help Camela with the cooking, so she doesn't have to prepare so much food by herself."

Ines suddenly remembered Joy's identity, worried about the awkwardness when they met, so she gave Erica a heads-up, "There's something I want to tell you in advance. My cousin’s wife is Joy, who used to work at the Meyer Group."

Time had passed by. Erica couldn't remember the name for a while, she asked puzzledly, "Who is Joy?"

"Sally, I think that's the name she used most often." Ines said.

Erica paused for a moment, remembering the past. She couldn't help but sigh slightly, "That girl, she was quite talented in architectural design. It's a pity. I didn't expect the world to be so small, that she turned out to be your family. Has Ethan met her?"

Ines replied, "Yes, we met her when we went to the wedding last time."

"Well, that's fine. If Ethan doesn't have any objections, what can I say? Since she's your cousin’s wife, she's a relative of the Meyer family. There's no need to hold onto the past. It's hard to say who's right or wrong. Everyone has different perspectives. If Ethan doesn't care about people related to Silvia, I should let go too." Erica said.

Ines smiled, "Okay."

"Alright, that's settled then. It's getting late, and you should go back to work. I won't hold you up." Erica said.

"Forget it. Outsiders can see it clearer." Erica poked Ines' cheek.

Erica sent Ines back to the Galeana Group before going back, then went to the supermarket with Camela to buy groceries.

In the evening, Jeffery and Joy came over. Ines personally opened the door for them, greeted them with a smile, "Welcome. Come in!."

"Izzy, we're going to impose on you this time." Joy said apologetically. She did own a house in A City, but she sold it to pay for her mother's medical expenses. Now, she didn't even have a place to stay in A City.

"What are you talking about, Joy? If you guys secretly went to stay in a hotel, I would've scolded my cousin later. You guys have dinner here first. After dinner, I'll take you to our new house. It's already been renovated. We originally planned to move there after our wedding. But because I got pregnant, we haven't had the wedding, so we haven't moved there." Ines said.

Ethan also came out from the house, greeted them to sit down. Ines saw that the interaction between Jeffery and Ethan was much better than last time, and couldn't help but tease, "Why aren't you two shaking hands?"

"You little girl, all you know is to make fun of me." Jeffery laughed.

Ines chuckled, linking arms with Jeffery as they walked in. Joy spotted Erica in the room right away and felt a bit awkward. She subconsciously called out, "Ms. Erica."

Erica couldn't help but laugh, thinking back to the naive young girl fresh out of school, "Seems like all you know is drawing. You could use some work on your people skills. You're not an employee of the Meyer Group anymore, so there's no need to address me so formally."

"Oh." Joy had always been somewhat intimidated by Erica. She wasn't nearly this friendly at the company; everyone at the Meyer Group was scared of her. Seeing Joy a bit flustered, Jeffery turned to Erica and said with a grin, "I'm Izzy's cousin, Jeffery. I've been meaning to come visit you but never had the chance. I'm really sorry about that."
