Broken Memories, Intertwined Hearts novel Chapter 350

As soon as they walked in, they saw Camela bustling about. Ines asked with a smile, "Camela, how's your daughter?"

"She's fine. Her husband is often away for work, so she feels insecure. Any little ailment and she thinks she’s caught some serious disease. I've accompanied her to get checked, it's nothing serious." Camela chuckled.

"That's good." Ines said.

"By the way, Ethan, did you marinate these chicken wings?" Camela asked, "I tried one when I got back this morning. They're good to go now. I put them in the fridge so they wouldn’t go bad."

At that, Ines’ eyes lit up. She turned to Ethan, "When did you marinate them?"

"Last night." Ethan said. Ines was touched. He must have known about the incident last night, yet he still took care of this small matter. He was too good.

Ethan gently stroked her hair and asked, "You still have an appetite?"

Ines looked up at Ethan, a satisfied and happy smile on her face, "Of course I can eat!"

Seeing her enthusiastic response, Ethan felt a little unsure, so he explained, "Izzy, this was my first attempt at marinating chicken wings and I didn’t use many seasonings, so the taste might not be that good. Don’t get your hopes up."

"That's okay. As long as you made it." Ines said.

Hearing her say this, Ethan didn’t hesitate any longer. He went to the kitchen, plated some wings, and Ines couldn’t wait to grab one. The wings looked good, not pale and unappealing. She took a bite. Whether it was psychological or not, Ines thought Ethan's cooking was amazing. His marinated wings were as good as any she'd ever had.

Ethan was observing Ines' reaction. He couldn’t help but ask, "How is it? Not bad, right?"

"Great! Nothing can stump you." Ines said.

"Really? Don't lie to me. If it's not good, tell me honestly, so I can improve next time." Ethan said.

Ines held up a wing, raising an eyebrow at him, "Since when did you lose your confidence? Try it for yourself." Ethan usually ate light and never indulged in such foods. But since this was from Ines, he accepted with a smile. They sat on the couch, eating wings, creating a warm atmosphere.

Camela watched them with a big smile. This was what real and ordinary married life looked like. Seeing them like this, she, as someone who had been there, couldn’t help but feel envious.

However, since these wings were marinated, and eating too many wasn't good for health. So Ethan only allowed Ines to eat a few.

Ines laughed, took a photo of the wings, and sent it to Phoebe. Phoebe replied quickly: ["Izzy, are you tormenting us singletons? Ethan prepared another delicious meal for you?]

Although Ethan didn't have feelings for Silvia, seeing her young and beautiful, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. She didn't want to lose to her in this respect.

With that thought, she took out some hydrating skincare products from her makeup box. These were given to her by Phoebe, specifically designed for pregnant women with no side effects. Phoebe was an expert on skincare and Ines’ best friend, so she trusted her completely. She carefully applied them to her face, feeling a lot more hydrated. She was never a fan of putting stuff on her face. After getting pregnant, she stopped using products for fear they might harm the baby.

Ethan watched her curiously, "Why suddenly remember to do skincare tonight?"

Ines turned to look at him, laughing, "From your tone, do I usually seem scruffy to you?"

"I didn’t say that. Come to bed. It's late." Ethan beckoned her over.

Ines obediently lay down, as Ethan rubbed some olive oil on her belly. Maybe because they sensed their mother's happiness, the twins were especially excited tonight. After some time, they finally accepted Ethan and were willing to communicate with him. He habitually laid his face on Ines' belly. He had barely said a word when he was firmly kicked, but he found it amusing.

Ines laughed, "Ethan, you enjoy being kicked so much, be careful they might turn out to be real troublemakers when they're born."

"I'd love to have a cheeky little princess. But a little boy? Nah." Ethan said.

Ines rolled her eyes, saying, "I'm off to sleep. You can keep chatting up your little princess."
