Chapter 568: So what if he was rich?

Catrin’s eyes looked ahead before she walked inside the house, going straight to the living hall where the lawyer was waiting.

Lawyer Willow had been waiting for a long time. When he finally heard the approaching taps of the heels, he glanced up. Standing up from his seat, he politely greeted. "Mrs. Quinn!"

"Lawyer Willow, I heard you brought the papers I asked you to bring." She went straight to the point, clearly acting on her impulse.

The lawyer hesitated for a second but nodded, "Yes, Madam. I prepared it as you have asked for."

"Then don’t wait," She gestured with her hand to retrieve the papers while walking to take a seat on the sofa. "Bring it out and I will sign it right away. I have decided about it."

Bound with duty, the lawyer had nothing to question. He reached for his leather bag and, unzipping it, he pulled out the file. When he turned to hand it over to Catrin, he suggested, "Mrs. Quinn I think you should once discuss this with Chairman Quinn. After all, his thoughts are also important in this matter."

"I know what I am doing, Lawyer Willow. I don’t need you to guide me," her tone drew a line of authority. She then took the folder from him. Flipping it open, she let her eyes skim through the details. It was quick and urgent as if she were desperate to act on what she decided.

"Mr. Carl," she called, and the butler at once stepped forward, handing her the pen after removing its cap.

He watched as the lady put down her name elegantly at the bottom of the papers.

"Here, take it," she said, closing back the file once the signature was done. Glancing back at the lawyer, she handed back the file and instructed, "As always, I will leave the remaining procedures for you to complete. Just one thing, I want this done as soon as possible. If that requires you visiting the Browns now, then do it. I just want this legal adoption process to be complete."

Lawyer Willow gazed at the file once before nodding. "I will take my leave then." With that, he stood up and walked out. Mr. Carl followed to escort him.

Catrin didn’t move. Her expression only turned agitatedly furious. Even though she did all that should have calmed her, she still did not feel it was enough. Arwen’s arrogance was something that sat well with her. It reminded her of the past when she was simply out of her control.

"Maybe you didn’t take the threats seriously, Arwen." Her nails dug into her palm, almost making the blood ooze out. "But no worries, this will definitely let you see how close you are to losing it for all, forever." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

She was muttering to herself under her breath and didn’t notice Carl entering back into the house.

"Madam," he called, stopping in front of her. "Lawyer Willow has left."

Catrin nodded. Then she stood up to go to her room when the butler’s hesitant voice stopped her.

"Madam, Sir had called today. He said he would be returning soon."

Idris was out on a business trip and was still upset with her. Because of which, instead of letting her know the details, he was using the chances to remind her of the differences that were only growing.
