“Have you heard any news from Summer?”

Claudia's face fell instantly. “Mentioning her in front of me is one thing, but don't bring her up in front of Mark.”

“Why?”

“We've raised her for so many years, but she ended up being a child who doesn't recognize her own family. Why even bring her up?”

Josie had a grasp of the situation. It seemed they were not privy to much information.

Seeing her take the initiative to ask, Claudia could guess most of it. “What happened?”

“I saw her in Rivodia.”

Claudia lifted her eyes slightly. “What is she doing?”

“She's with a powerful man.” Josie didn't spell it out completely.

Claudia let out a scoff, seemingly unsurprised.

“If she wants to choose her own path of downfall, let her be. She better not regret it.”

However, it was highly likely that she was involved in the incident with Dexter this time, and Josie did not know how to explain it.

“Would she reply if you were the ones to reach out?”

Upon noticing her serious demeanor, Claudia could infer something was amiss. “You wouldn't have brought her up if it weren't for special circumstances. Is there something you need our help with?”

Josie realized she had spoken too much and shook her head. “I just remembered something. It's nothing much.”

Josie said calmly, “Could you allow me to finish what I'm working on? It'll only take five minutes.”

Five minutes wasn't a long time. A few individuals in uniforms stood by, watching her finish her task. Once done, she rose and departed with them.

“You're Dexter's ex-wife. You were married to him for two long years. During those two years, did you ever notice any illicit dealings on his part?”
