Chapter 9
Nathaniel fare instantly turned dark.
“Vivi, who’s in your house?”
Before I could answer. Tihan walked mat wearing an apron and stand behind me
“Nathaniel. Long time unser.
My son frowned and asked, annoyed,
“Mom, who’s this guy?”
Ethan smirked and answered for me.
“He used to be your mom’s childhood friend. Now he’s her divorce attorney”
My son puffed up his cheeks and glared at him.
“My mom and dad are not getting divorced.”
Nathaniel’s expression soured even more
“Ethan, you’d better watch what you say.”
“I’m not getting divorced from Vivianne. She loves me.”
Don’t forget–Vivianne cut ties with you because of me
Ethan’s smile faded. His voice turned cold.
“People change, Nathaniel. You, of all people, should know that”
“Or did you already forget your wife the moment some random woman showed up?”
That hit Nathaniel like a punch to the gut. He clenched his jaw, eyes burning like a lion ready to pounce.
“Erhan, you really think I can’t make a few calls and have you blacklisted from every firm in New York?
That was enough. I cut in
“That’s enough, Nathaniel. Don’t go there.”
Nathaniel looked at me like I’d stabbed him in the back
“You’re siding with him?”
It was probably the first time I’d ever stood up for another man in front of him.
And it clearly broke something inside him.
But I didn’t care anymore.
I’d heard these arguments, lived these scepes to many times over the years while he played house with habella.
I didn’t wand to argue. I turned and cliped the door.
This time, Nathaniel didn’t stop me.
but as the door clicked shut, I thought I heard my son crying
