Austyn just nodded and left the room. 

Kira banged the door shut. 

The guard was still in the room. ‘Miss, I think I should escort him out of the building.‘ 

Kira nodded at him. ‘Thank you for coming.‘ 

She was about to open the door. 

A loud thud came from the other side. 

Something had hit the floor. 

Startled, Kira pulled the door open. 

Austyn was lying on the ground, face down. 

Kira’s eyes widened. 

She swallowed the panic rising in her throat. ‘Hey, get up! Your trick’s not going to work‘ 

Austyn did not move. 

Kira bent down next to him. ‘Austyn! Get up! It’s not funny!‘ 

He remained motionless. 

Kira touched his face. 

His cheek was cold. 

His eyes were closed. 

‘Austyn!‘ 

“What’s going on?‘ The guard came out after Kira. ‘Oh my, I think he fainted.‘ 

‘Call an ambulance!‘ Kira tried to lift Austyn’s head, but she was too weak to manage it. 

‘Let me.‘ The guard stepped forward to help. 

He gently flipped Austyn over. 

His hand touched Austyn’s jacket. ‘Shit, I think he’s bleeding.‘ 

Kira saw the guard’s hand stained red. ‘Wh–what?‘

It would take too long for an ambulance to get here. 

Giana sprinted away and came back two minutes later in a cab. ‘Come on!‘ 

Kira followed her into the cab without a word. 

Noah stayed with Austyn in the backseat. 

The cab driver was reluctant to ferry a bleeding passenger until Giana promised to pay him double. 

Kira stared at Austyn’s bloodless face and still could not process what was happening.

‘It’s going to be okay.‘ Giana twisted around in the front passenger seat and tried to comfort her. 

Giana urged the driver, ‘Step on it, please! 

Kira blinked 

She searched frantically for her phone, ‘Where’s my phone?‘ 

‘Calm down, Kira‘ Noah sat next to her. ‘It’s in your hand.‘
