Bedmates Soulmates novel Chapter 473

His True Colours

He must be dreaming

Why else would he see Deborah, who’d been dead for seven years

The apparition in front of him had the same figure, same face, same hair, even the same dress she wore the last time he saw her

The same offwhite, sleeveless wrap dress with ruffle trim that made her look like the girl next door in every guy’s dreams

This had to be a dream

She was shot dead right in front of his eyes seven years ago

Liam stopped half a metre in front of her

He dared not speak lest the apparition vanished

He dare not breathe lest the disturbance in the air startled her

But the rational part of his brain told him this wasn’t a dream

He could see the slight rise and fall of her chest as she breathed

He could smell her perfume, something fruity

And he’d heard her talking to Kira

He stood face to face with Deborah

Neither spoke for a long while

Finally, Liam found his voice again. YYou’re still alive?‘

How

Why

Deborah was just as dazed

She didn’t reply

Her mouth was still open in the shape of the letter O.‘

Liam raised his right hand, trying to touch her

His move startled Deborah

She backed off

Who are you?‘

Liam stared at her in disbelief

What did she say

Why did it sound like she was talking to a stranger

Had he made a mistake

Liam blinked

No, he hadn’t been mistaken

There was a clear sign of recognition in her eyes just now

There was also shock and disbelief

Deborah definitely knew who he was

Why was she acting like she didn’t

I’m sorry. I have to go now.Deborah nodded at Kira and turned away

Deborah!Liam chased after her

Kira was left standing rooted to the spot, her mind buzzing

What just happened

Did Liam just call the woman Deborah

Miss Connelly was really Deborah Connelly

Deborah Connelly, Austyn’s first love, the woman who was supposed to be dead

Kira was feeling what Liam felt just nowsurreal

Could Liam have made a mistake

But his reaction didn’t seem faked

Kira felt weakkneed

She had to sit down on a stone bench nearby

Her head was all in a spin

Then she suddenly realised where she’d seen Miss Connelly before

Not in person, in a photo

The photo Austyn carried with him

It finally dawned on her

Deborah Connelly had come back to life

Deborah walked as fast as her legs could carry her, but she was in high heels

She did not dare look back, but she heard the urgent and relentless footsteps

She panicked

When she returned to Stamford, she had not planned on reuniting with any of her old acquaintances except for Austyn

Liam was the last person she wanted to see

Deborah cursed her bad luck

Stamford had more than twenty million people

What were the odds of running into the one person she didn’t want to see

Deborah gritted her teeth and picked up her pace

She wasn’t familiar with the layout of the complex and had to turn down arbitrary tracks

Finally, she found herself in front of Block A.

She dashed inside, stabbed at the button to call the lift and hid behind a huge potted plant

The lift took forever to come down
