Kira rolled her eyes. “You didn’t let me finish. I was planning to take pictures of celebrities, not you!! 

The man scrutinised Kira’s canvas bag. ‘Se

‘Paparazzo, Kira corrected him automatically. “And no, I’m not a private investigator. I’m just here to take some shots of celebs for money.” 

A journalist would never call herself a paparazzo, but Kira was willing to break the rule just once if it got her out of here alive. 

The man still seemed sceptical. 

His gun was still trained on Kira’s face. 

She was running out of ideas to convince him. 

A loud screeching sound startled them both. 

Kira saw the man looking at somewhere behind her and turned around. 

Acandy–red Bentley Continental GT pulled up right in front of her.

Kira was relieved. 

She wanted nothing more to do with Liam Cane if she could help it. 

But at the moment, she would take any help she could get. 

Liam swung his long legs out of the car and was with Kira in an insta

Kira gave him the long and short of it. 

She whispered in his ear, “There must be some misunderstanding. I 

I wasn’t following then. I don’t even know who they are.” 

Liam’s par tingled as he felt Kira’s hot breath and smelled her coconut shampoo 

He kept his gaze on the man. ‘Get in the car. I’ll handle this.” 

That I can’t let you lace him alone. He has a gun!”

Her face was pale. 

Her hands were shaking. 

But she was still trying to put up a brave front. 

He said in a gentler voice, ‘Just get in the car. I’ll be fine. I’m just going to talk to him.” 

Kira stood still 

It brought a smile to Liam’s face. ‘Are you worried about me? If you’re afraid I’m going to die here, give me a kiss. At least I’ll die a

Kira rolled her eyes and stomped towards the car. 

Liam followed her with his eyes until she was safe inside the Bentley. 

He turned back to face the man. ‘It’s bad manners to wave a gun at a lady,

She prayed nothing would happen to Liam.

If things went south, maybe she could start the car and run the man over. 

She didn’t have a driver’s license, but this was not the time to be a stickler for the rules. 

Seconds passed. 

Then minutes 

Whatever Liam said must have worked. 

The man put away his gun. 

Kira breathed out. 

Another two minutes later, Liam came over. 

He got in the driver’s seat and started the car.
