Quiet Flame began to speak, only for his words to freeze. He shook his head.
"I hope for you to reconsider this," Quiet Flame said.
Atticus frowned intently. ’He avoided answering the question.’ Atticus noted.
"I won’t," Atticus said, standing up from his throne. "Is that all?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Quiet Flame let out a deep sigh. "Yes. That is all. I suggest you prepare for the ascension day tomorrow."
Atticus turned to look at Quiet Flame. The latter’s eyes burned with white flames, and he stared at Atticus, calm.
"Alright." Atticus nodded, vanishing from the space.
He returned back to his continent, expression serious.
’His tone...’ Atticus shook his head. The feelings still lingered strong, but he decided not to focus on things that were out of his control.
He continued his training and soon enough, Atticus felt another call. But this time around, it was from Noctis. Anastasia was calling for him.
As Atticus appeared on the hill, entering the main building, he was surprised to find another banquet like dinner set out.
His family, along with trusted Eldorians, stood waiting for him to take a seat at the head of the table.
Atticus sent Anastasia an accusatory look and took a seat. As the group finished eating and discussions started, Atticus was surprised to find out that the Eldorians had asked for the dinner themselves.
"Tomorrow is ascension day, and we wanted to bask in your presence before we face the unknown."
Oberon had said, voicing what everyone held in their minds.
Atticus only smiled, glancing around the room, taking in the resolved and determined expressions. He had no idea what influence his presence had on the others, but he was glad to see the morale high.
They had requested a speech, to which Atticus had calmly refused. He didn’t do speeches unless there was an important need.
Atticus left the dinner in a good mood. He loved having dinners with his family, and that didn’t change even with the Eldorians included.
But as he remembered the dangers of the midplanes, Atticus took a deep breath, exhaling.
He vanished and appeared in his training continent, and without wasting time, he continued training with new intensity, the quake of his attacks reaching other parts despite the shield.
Still, Atticus didn’t stop, not even when the night passed and dawn arrived.
The Eldorians had gathered at the edge of Atticus’ training continent, each with varying expressions.
They were each donned in armor, weapons at the ready. Today was the day of ascension, and Atticus had warned them to be ready for war. They were ready for just that.
Still, despite their readiness, they each couldn’t help but feel shivers roaring down their spines as they witnessed the scene unfolding in front of them.
The dome that covered the entire training continent did little to stop the shockwaves of Atticus’ training from reaching them. They could feel it. The pressure, the weight in the air.
It was like a caged ancient beast was raging. The Eldorians shuddered.
"I’m glad he’s on our side," Thorne muttered, earning a nod from the other Eldorians.
"I still can’t comprehend how you and your wife managed to birth him," Luminous said, facing Avalon while shaking his head. "Is it something she ate while pregnant?"
As Avalon felt the stare of the Eldorians on him, he cleared his throat. Even Magnus was looking at him.
