Chapter 529: Exchanging Life Saving Herbs

Bai Meiyue listened to the cries of the man before turning to walk inside the room; there was nothing that she could do other than think of a way to solve the problem in front of her.

"When did Corpse Plague start the last time?" Bai Meiyue mused as she tried to recall the memories of her past life. If she was not wrong, the corpse plague started after the second year of the apocalypse. Then how come it arrived so early this time around? Or maybe the corpse plague started early, but by the time it reached the southern base where she was during the second year, it was too late?

Bai Meiyue realised that she didn’t have any particular information about the corpse plague, but she did remember the herbs that the researchers asked the wood-type ability users to grow. If her hunch was correct, then they were blood lotus flower, heaven heart grass, fire dragon root, life-saving ganoderma and white mist mushrooms.

These herbs were rather hard to find. Bai Meiyue still remembered that when she died, the corpse plague was still rising. Though the researchers found the cure, they couldn’t find all the herbs, though they pushed the wood-type ability users to somehow turn the mutated herbs back to their original selves; as far as she knew, they were never able to succeed.

As for whether they were able to succeed or not after her death, Bai Meiyue didn’t know. She had to admit that Mother Nature surely knew how to teach a good lesson to the humans. She destroyed the world and gave the cure to the humans, but at the same time, she took away the very cure that could help them.

Bai Meiyue thought about it a little and then typed a message for the Goddess of Herbs.

[ Do you have blood lotus flower, heaven heart grass, fire dragon root, life-saving ganoderma and white mist mushrooms?]

The response was almost instant as the Goddess of Herbs was online.

[ I do have these herbs, but they are quite expensive. What do you need them for?]

[ Nothing. Didn’t I tell you that I have awakened medical skills? I want to grow these herbs and keep them in stock. If you want, then I can exchange these herbs with the Seven Day Course poison.]

[You finally got your hands on that poison? Dang, that Poison Master is really something. I asked him to give that poison to me all this time, but he never agreed, and yet he agreed to hand it to you just like that?]

Even though Bai Meiyue could not see the expression on the face of the Goddess of Herbs, she knew that the woman was filled with envy. After all, she knew how much The Goddess of Herbs wanted to get the Seven Day Course Poison, but each time she had made the request, Poison Master had refused. Saying that he couldn’t give it to her as it was too expensive and hard to make.

Bai Meiyue was aware of their banter and knew why the Goddess of Herbs was upset. Thus, she hurriedly typed in a message lest the woman go to quarrel with Poison Master.

[I helped him deal with a tricky situation. Something that he couldn’t solve on his own; thats why he handed me that poison, if not, he would have never parted with it.]

[Alright. I will exchange these herbs with you for the Seven Course Poison. Because you have helped me out, I will add in the seeds of a few more herbs that you can use in your medical practice.]

’I am not saying that she is weak, but you know how actresses are starved these days. Just look at Bai Meiyue; she is all skin and bones with no flesh. If this continues, then forget about labour pain; she might not even create enough milk for the child.’ 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

’Once again, I am not blaming her, but the milk of a mother is really important for a child, especially in these situations. Think about it: if Bai Meiyue fails to feed the child, how will he survive in these conditions? try to fatten her a bit while there is still time.’
