Chapter 162. You are not

Chapter 162: You are not my younger sister!

(Aria’s POV)

“How?” I was full of disbelief, my wolf whimpering anxiously within me as confusion clouded my thoughts. “What did you ask?”

I had been there from beginning to end, hanging on every word of their heated exchange. I heard every insult, every threat, every moment of tension that crackled between the two Alphas like lightning.

So how could I have missed something so important?

At this moment, Dominic had already driven away from the Storm Pack headquarters parking lot. His fingers tapped the steering wheel idly, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.

His powerful Alpha presence filled the luxury SUV, wrapping around me like a warm blanket despite my confusion.

“That Alpha Alexander is indeed watertight with his words,” Dominic said, his voice carrying a note of grudging respect. “It’s impossible to get anything out of his mouth through direct questioning.”

I couldn’t help but frown slightly, my pregnant wolf stirring with frustration. “Then you still said you asked…” “He admitted it by default.” Dominic’s silver–gray eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

“Huh?” I was still completely lost, my mind struggling to piece together what I had missed. “When did he admit it by default?”

Dominic glanced at me from the side, his lips slightly curved in that knowing way that made my heart skip. “When he said ‘kneel and submit“.”

I froze for a moment, then the realization hit me like a physical blow. My wolf whimpered as the pieces finally clicked into place.

That’s right–Dominic had been clearly asking if Alexander had some leverage over my older brother at the time. The question had been direct and pointed, leaving little room for misinterpretation.

But Alexander had skipped the denial entirely and directly provoked instead. He had gone straight to that cruel challenge, revealing more than he intended.

“Oh my god,” I whispered, my hand instinctively moving to my belly where our pup was growing. “He didn’t even try to deny it.”

So much so that the sudden anger Alexander felt before we left was probably because he realized he had revealed too much. His wolf’s rage had been about his own mistake, not just Dominic’s provocation.

“But it’s useless if he just admitted it by default…” I pursed my lips, feeling even more Alexander than before.

If Alexander being stabbed by Claire to save me had previously made me feel a complex sense of guilt, that was all gone now. I had been kidnapped by Claire in the first place because of Alexander’s inability to handle his messy relationships!

And now, he had put my only older brother in his current broken state. The thought made my wolf snarl with

protective fury.

Such entanglement and relentless pursuit really made him utterly detestable!

How is it useless?” Dominic said, his voice soothing as he reached over to squeeze my hand. His cedar scent

worked to calm my agitated wolf.

“A tightly woven net, once a small opening is torn, it can no longer hold anything.”

I glanced out the window, noticing that we were heading straight onto the elevated road. But this wasn’t the way back to the herbal remedy company, nor was it the route home to Moon Valley Residences.

“Where are we going?” I asked, my curiosity overriding my anger for the moment.

“To see your older brother,” Dominic replied, his tone becoming more serious. “Perhaps we can still pry

something out of him.”

As soon as we arrived at Silvercrest Werewolf Psychiatric Center, the chief physician immediately greeted us.

His professional demeanor was evident in the way he carried himself, but I could see the concern in his eyes.

“Alpha Dominic, Luna Aria, you’re here?”

The formal address made me feel strange, still adjusting to my new status as Dominic’s mate. But I pushed

those thoughts aside, focusing on what mattered most.

“How is my older brother?” I asked urgently, my wolf whimpering with anxiety.

“He’s stable, as long as the name ‘Alexander Reed‘ isn’t mentioned,” Dr. Marcus Thompson said gravely. “His

emotions won’t fluctuate much otherwise.”

I couldn’t help but sigh–as expected. The confirmation that Alexander was indeed connected to James’s

condition made my stomach churn with anger and grief.

“What’s wrong?” The doctor noticed my expression wasn’t quite right, his wolf’s senses picking up my distress. “Is it confirmed? Is the person who harmed Mr. James the one named ‘Alexander Reed‘?

I nodded slowly, my hand instinctively moving to my belly where my unborn pup was growing. “It’s not certain

yet, but it’s very likely him.”

The doctor, instead of looking troubled, seemed relieved. “That’s good.”

“Why?” I asked, surprised by his reaction.

Dr. Thompson quickly explained, his professional manner reassuring. “If the patient’s series of behaviors are traceable, that means the psychological trauma affecting his wolf–human bond is only pathological.”

He paused, choosing his words carefully. “With proper medical intervention, there will always be a day when he recovers and regains his sanity.”

“Really?” I couldn’t help but feel a surge of hope, my wolf humming with renewed energy.

“Of course.” The doctor’s confidence gave me infinite hope.

At least my older brother wouldn’t be affected his whole life. As long as there was hope, there was a possibility of recovery.

And that was enough for now.

“Dr. Thompson, can we go see him?” I asked, eager to connect with James in whatever way possible.

The colorful pieces scattered across the floor as he clutched his head and began rolling on the ground, his body writhing with invisible pain.

Seeing James’s condition get more and more violent, I had no choice but to leave. The medical staff were already moving in, their experienced hands working to restrain him safely.
