Chapter 142: The Confrontation(2)
Chapter 142: The Confrontation(2)
(Aria’s POV)
The thunderous slap reverberated through the Shadow Pack headquarters like a gunshot, causing everyone present to freeze in complete shock. The sound echoed off the walls with terrifying finality.
Dominic’s head snapped violently to the side from the sheer force of his father’s blow. His cheek immediately began swelling, bearing a clear handprint that demonstrated the full Alpha strength behind the strike.
The red mark spread across his pale skin like spilled blood. I watched in horror as the proud, distinguished Alpha King I knew was reduced to this humiliating moment.
Despite the obvious pain and public humiliation, Dominic maintained his stance with incredible dignity. He slowly turned back to face his father, his silver–gray eyes cold and unwavering.
“Why should I submit to you?” he asked defiantly, his voice cutting through the tense silence like a blade. His father’s face contorted with rage and disgust, his Alpha pheromones spiking with fury that filled the
entire office.
“Don’t you know what foolish things you’ve done?” he bellowed, his voice dripping with contempt. “A grown Alpha being manipulated by a she–wolf who’s already severed her mate bond, and you still have the face to act confused here?”
Each word felt like a silver dagger cutting through my heart. I stood frozen, watching this proud man being torn down by his own father.
“The Shadow Pack’s reputation and status among the territories are being tarnished by your reckless actions!” his father continued, his voice rising with each accusation. “You’re making us a laughingstock!”
I could only imagine the pain and fury Dominic must be experiencing. His wolf had to be bristling beneath his skin, fighting every instinct to retaliate.
“How dare you bring shame upon our family name for some worthless she–wolf who couldn’t even keep her first mate satisfied!”
The cruel words hit me like physical blows, but I forced myself to remain silent. This wasn’t about me – this was about father and son, about power and tradition,
Dominic’s composed facade finally cracked. He laughed coldly, the sound sharp and bitter in the oppressive
silence.
“How am I shameless?” he fired back with equal intensity, his voice carrying years of suppressed resentment. “Just because I have the courage to pursue my true mate?”
His father’s face flushed red with anger, his eyes becoming sharp as blades.
“Unlike you,” Dominic continued relentlessly, “who abandoned the she–wolf you loved for the sake of so–called pack honor.”
The accusation struck his father like a physical blow. I saw the older Alpha’s composure waver for just a moment, revealing old wounds.

Chapter 142. The Confron
Dominic pressed on, his tongue touching his reddened cheek as he continued his cold interrogation.
“I don’t think I’m wrong. But Father, living your whole life for those illusory things, being neither a proper mate nor a proper father–do you really think that’s right?”
The words hung in the air like poison. I could see the pain in both their eyes, generations of hurt and disappointment.
“You rebellious pup!” his father roared, completely losing control. “I’ll tear you apart today!”
Before anyone could react, he grabbed a heavy crystal paperweight from the coffee table. The ornate piece gleamed dangerously in the office lighting.
With savage fury, he hurled it directly at Dominic’s head. The heavy projectile could cause serious injury or even death upon impact.
“No!” I screamed, my voice breaking with terror.
Without thinking, I threw myself toward Dominic. My pregnant wolf’s protective instincts overrode all rational thought.
He quickly turned to embrace and protect me, his powerful arms wrapping around my body like a shield. The paperweight crashed brutally into his back instead, the sickening thud echoing through the room.
“Dominic!” I cried out, feeling his body absorb the impact meant for his head.
He held me tighter, his Alpha body completely shielding me from harm. Blood began to seep through his expensive suit jacket.
“Stay back,” he commanded through gritted teeth, his protective instincts flaring despite his own pain. “I don’t want you getting hurt.”
His father’s rage had reached a dangerous peak. His Alpha pheromones filled the room with suffocating
intensity.
“Bring me the moonstone whip,” he ordered coldly, his voice carrying absolute authority.
One of the enforcer wolves immediately stepped forward, producing what appeared to be a traditional Alpha discipline tool. The whip gleamed with embedded moonstone fragments that would make each strike infinitely more painful.
“This is what happens to disobedient pups,” his father snarled, raising the weapon.
The first lash came down across Dominic’s back with vicious force. The sound of leather meeting flesh made me flinch.
“Stop!” I tried to rush forward, but Hunter Hayes caught my arm, holding me back with gentle but firm strength.
“Alpha’s orders,” he whispered quietly. “He doesn’t want you hurt.”
Another lash fell, then another. Each strike was delivered with calculated brutality, designed to break both body and spirit.
Blood began to seep through Dominic’s black suit, staining it darker. The fabric tore under the repeated impacts.
Yet throughout the brutal beating, he never once bent his back or showed submission. His Alpha pride

refused to yield, even under such torture.
“Submit!” his father demanded between strikes. “Acknowledge your mistakes!”
“Never,” Dominic replied through bloodied lips, his voice steady despite the agony.
The whip fell again and again. I counted each strike, my heart breaking with every impact.
Tears streamed down my face as I watched this incredible Alpha endure such punishment for my sake. My wolf whimpered in distress, wanting to protect him but unable to help.
“Enough!” a sharp voice suddenly cut through the violence.
Isabella Blackwood strode into the office, her former Luna authority evident in every movement. She moved with purpose and determination. –
“Are you trying to kill my son?” she demanded, grabbing her mate’s raised wrist before he could deliver
another blow.
Her grip was surprisingly strong, stopping the whip mid–swing with impressive force.
“This has gone far enough,” she declared, her voice carrying absolute command. “Release him immediately.” For a moment, the two Alphas stared at each other in a battle of wills. Then Dominic’s father reluctantly threw down the whip.
The bloody weapon clattered to the floor with sickening finality.
I rushed to Dominic’s side the moment Hunter released his grip. Tears streamed down my face as I saw his mangled back through the torn fabric.
“Does it hurt?” I asked, my voice breaking with emotion.
Dominic simply smiled at me as if the dozens of lashes hadn’t torn his flesh apart. His Alpha healing was already beginning to work on the wounds.
“I’m fine,” he said softly, his silver–gray eyes warm despite everything. “Are you hurt?”
I shook my head, overwhelmed by his concern for me even in his current state.
His father’s cold voice cut through our moment.
