After finishing the call with Dominic, a heavy cloud that had been weighing on my heart lifted. My wolf stirred uneasily within me as my mobile phone suddenly rang again.

Sophia Price. My aunt. My mother’s younger sister.

“Hello, Aunt Sophia…” I began.

“Aria, what’s wrong with you?” she scolded. “Your brother has been hospitalized for days, why haven’t you shown up yet?”

I was stunned. “You came to the Northern Territory?”

“Of course I came!” she shot back. “My nephew was so badly injured that someone had to be here for him!”

“How can you be so heartless as a sister?” she continued. “My elder sister died from being angered by your

affairs. We only have your brother left in the Price and Summers family, yet you leave him alone in the

hospital!”

The guilt hit me like a physical blow. My chest tightened.

“Aunt, I tried to visit him, but he didn’t want me there,” I explained.

“That’s just him saying things out of anger!” she snapped. “Besides, if he tells you not to come, you just don’t come? What kind of sister are you?”

“I’ll be there right away,” I said quietly.

“That’s more like it!” she exclaimed.

Upon arriving at Silvercrest Hospital, I found my aunt Sophia, uncle Robert, and cousin Sadie gathered around James’s bedside. They were chatting and laughing, their pack scents mingling in the hospital air.

However, the moment I entered the room, they all fell silent. The atmosphere evaporated instantly, as if I were an unwelcome intruder. Their wolves‘ tension was palpable.

“Hello, Aunt Sophia, Uncle Robert,” I greeted them.

My aunt nodded while my uncle offered a brief smile.

I turned to look at my cousin Sadie. She merely pouted and turned away to stare at her mobile phone, completely ignoring my presence.

I placed the two bags of moon berries and healing herbs I had brought on the bedside table.

“These should help with your recovery, James,” I said.

My aunt’s expression softened as she examined the medicinal supplies.

“Aria, your brother’s injury won’t heal anytime soon,” she said. “Why don’t you get him a VIP single room? That way, he’ll be more comfortable and can focus on healing his wolf properly.”

Taking advantage of his injured leg and my aunt’s grip holding him back, I darted into the hallway with my phone. My wolf’s agility served me well.

Trapped by our aunt’s arms, he could only stare at me.

I ended the call and walked back toward him.

“Tell me everything,” I commanded. “Is there anything else you’re hiding from me?”

James pursed his lips. His eyes kept darting to the phone in my hand.

Finally, he lowered his head and released a heavy sigh.

“I… I actually didn’t do much,” he began. “I just sent a report letter to the Territorial Registry Office…”

“A report letter?” My heart tightened. “Reporting what exactly?”

It felt as if lightning had struck me. My heart turned to ice. My wolf howled in distress within me.

“Why are you mentioning Dominic?” I frowned.

I already owed Dominic too many favors. My brother’s situation was serious, involving pack politics and

How could I possibly ask him for help again?!

“He always listens to you. As long as you ask him, he’ll definitely help me solve this mess!”

I lowered my voice.
