Sidney's eyes shifted slightly. "I just needed a change of pace, to challenge myself and see what I’m really capable of. At my old job, I had a lot of support from you all. After a while, I felt... a bit lost."

Aveline sighed. "It wasn’t that much help. Most of your success came from your own hard work. But I understand—changing environments can be good for growth."

"Yeah, that’s what I’m hoping for," Sidney replied.

A male voice came from Aveline’s end of the line, and she quickly said, "I won’t disturb you further. I’ll call you again."

"Alright, talk later," Sidney said.

As he hung up, he recognized the voice—it was Lucas.

They were happy together now.
