Althea smiled. With this, she could also be more rest assured during wars and fights.
"Let me see, let me see!" Master Hoffen said, stretching his arms in front of Althea, who dutifully handled the glass beaker to her master.
"I see..." Hoffen mumbled, studying it, and using the assessment skill on it. Visually, it was almost the same potion as it was before she used her skill, but anyone with more grasp of aether could tell something else was integrated.
"You took the innate quality of the earth element and improved the original solution into a completely unexpected type of magic potion. It is truly amazing."
"Thank you, Master," she said with a smile. Hopefully, she could make more for her husband and the other guards. So, for the rest of the day, she created two more of this potion.
This was her limit, however.
As it was now, controlling her magic was like lifting several kilograms on both arms, but at the same time, controlling them with precision through the eye of a needle. It was exhausting, and it was no wonder her spirit had reached a very low dip after the third potion.
And so... once again, as soon as the official working hours was over, Garan appeared to fetch her, and she was carried home in an embarrassing way again.
Fortunately, her lovely babies had been waiting for her, and they kissed all the tiredness away.
...
The very next day, they started experimenting with the Water element.
For water, being near running water was best, but she didn’t want to go all the way to the park to go to the mini waterfalls there.
A faucet would do.
It didn’t look as cool, but practicality was still best.
Hoffen was more excited than she was, and he dragged her to the faucet. They had sinks in the laboratory after all.
Althea’s lips twitched, and she shook her head, though she quickly recalibrated herself.
They turned on the faucet, and she looked at the running water using her Eye. The blue particles weren’t that dense, but it was enough for her purpose. Seeing as it was useful, she then turned it off to create the solution first.
This time, she used water-attribute plants and placed the few she had in front of her.
She was unsure which ones to use exactly because there were so many variables, and the plants and materials simply reacted to each other differently with the slightest change in the process.
Water-based plants were also fairly rare in Alterra, so she didn’t know as much about them as others, which was why she had to do a lot of trial and error.
To determine the working combination, it took them a few days.
For this one, the relatively exotic material was the tidebloom, which was a material from seaside areas.
It was brought to Alterra by the Takoda Mercenary Team, the Avel City mercenaries. Their Post Office was at the maximum Level 3 and could therefore deliver and receive small items.
It so happened that one of the mercenaries had a relative near a seaside town and asked him to send as many samples of sea plants as practical.
Of course, the payment they received was also very beautiful. It could be said that the Takoda Mercenary Team made a killing with a few kilograms of plants that day!
Anyway, the other plant was combined with the Rivergrass, which was a fairly common plant near their rivers. The rivergrass was often used in tonics and salves that stimulated healthy blood flow.
Interestingly, one of the binders used this time was the sagada plant, another common plant in this area. Almost as early as they moved here, they had been using the plant as mint alternative and toothpaste material.
"I took another full day just to integrate it..." Althea said, looking down. She not only took days to figure out the combinations, but she also took a whole day to create something...
Dust?
Hoffen stared back. "You didn’t think I’d push you to do more, did you? Not only would I have to suffer your husband’s cold stare, but even I take my time to meditate and absorb my progress so far!"
