The day after severing ties with Alpha Alexander, I returned to my parents‘ Pack with my daughter in tow.

My father had actually intended to give Alpha Alexander a sound beating–after all, I had endured so much mistreatment.

It took all my persuasion to stop him. Let the past remain in the past. I had no desire for meaningless entanglements anymore. From now on, I only wanted to focus on raising my daughter well.

My father fully supported me and, to my surprise, even passed the Alpha position on

My days were consumed with caring for my daughter and learning how to manage the Pack. There was hardly a moment to catch my breath, leaving no room for useless distractions.

Perhaps it was just a stroke of bad luck, but at the mall, I ran into Alpha Alexander and Aria.

He held a baby in one arm and carried bags of baby supplies in the other–looking every bit like a picture–perfect little family.

When Aria spotted me, she exclaimed in surprise, “Leona, what are you doing here?”

I rolled my eyes at her.

Alpha Alexander, seemingly catching on to something, let out a faint snort. “What’s this? Regretting your decision? Here to beg me to take you back?”

“Beg you?” I shot back without hesitation. “Do I look like someone who’d come crawling back just because life is too easy?”

I didn’t hold back. “And another thing–get your facts straight. This isn’t your Pack. You’re the ones who came into *my* territory, yet you act like I’m stalking you. How did I not realize before just how shameless you could be?”

“Leona!” Alpha Alexander’s face darkened with frustration, his sharp gaze bearing down on me. “If you’re not here for me, what possible reason could you have for being here?”

I scoffed, about to retort, when the manager of the mall, a fellow Pack member, suddenly came running over.

“Alpha Leona, my deepest apologies! We weren’t expecting your visit today. Please forgive us for not preparing properly!”

Both Alpha Alexander and Aria stared at me, wide–eyed, as if they’d seen a ghost. A heartbeat later, they simultaneously burst into laughter.

believe you’d stoop so low. Are you really staging this whole act just to impress us? Do you even know the consequences of pretending to be an Alpha of a Pack? The cost is unimaginable.”

Alpha Alexander sneered at me. “I’ve seen some impressive lies, Leona, but this one takes the cake. I know exactly what you’re capable of–there’s no chance you could ever legitimately become an Alpha.”

Aria covered her mouth, laughing mockingly. “That’s right, Leona. If things are really that bad for you, I might know of a nearby place. that’s hiring cleaning staff. But, for the love of the Moon Goddess, stop pretending to be someone you’re not. If you get caught, I wouldn’t bet on you walking out alive.”

I chuckled coldly instead of rising to her bait. “What’s wrong? Your precious ‘Alexander‘ still hasn’t given you an official title?”

The smirk on her face froze instantly, her eyes flickering with malice. But as soon as Alpha Alexander glanced her way, she quickly lowered her head, hiding any trace of the venom within her expression.

Before I could turn away, Alpha Alexander stepped forward and grabbed my wrist.
