Chapter 2
The fear of not being able to guess the answer suddenly overwhelmed me. I
grabbed her by the neck and demanded in a low voice:
“Where is my daughter? Hand her over right
now!”
Aria seemed terrified, trembling as she cast a pitiful, pleading gaze at Alpha Alexander.
As expected, Alpha Alexander’s heart immediately softened, and he rushed forward to pry my hands off her.
I forced myself to endure the piercing pain in my chest as I spoke coldly, “Alpha Alexander, I suggest you tell me the truth. You know

the pack’s Alpha, I can’t do anything to you.”
Although no one in the pack dared to offend Alpha Alexander, as his Luna, I knew him inside and out. I understood exactly how to hold him in check. There were methods I deemed beneath me and had refrained from using–but for the sake of my daughter, I was ready to go all out.
As I said this, I pulled out my phone. Aria suddenly lunged forward and grabbed my arm, her eyes flickering with guilt.
“She’s at the beauty salon. Someone’s watching her–she’ll be fine,” she stammered.
After speaking, she subtly turned around to accuse me, a hint of righteous indignation in her tone.
“Sister Leona, we’re both mothers. Angelia is

so young–what’s the big deal if you donate some blood to her?”
Her freshly manicured nails dug sharply into my arm, the strength behind them completely at odds with her frail and helpless facade.
The pain made me fling her off, and she theatrically stumbled backward as if she’d lost balance, falling into Alpha Alexander’s arms. His reflexes were swift as he caught her waist.
“Leona, have you lost your mind?” he snarled, glaring at me. He lowered his head to comfort the startled Aria, his expression filled with tenderness. To an outsider, it would seem as though the woman in his arms was the true Luna.
“Alexander, don’t blame her, Aria said softly,

tilting her face upward as tears sparkled in her eyes. “It’s my fault–I’m too selfish. I just wanted Angelia to stay with you instead of me.”
Her lips quivered as sobs threatened to break free. “But Angelia’s so tiny, and now she’s so gravely ill. It hurts my heart so much..”
“Alexander, please, save Angelia. She’s practically half your daughter. Can’t you talk to Sister Leona and convince her to help?” she pleaded, clutching his sleeve pitifully.
Alpha Alexander gently wiped the tears from her eyes, his voice full of reassurance as he agreed, “Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, Angelia will be fine.”
He looked at me then, his gaze cold and commanding. “Leona, I’m not asking for your

permission. You’ll donate blood to Angelia now. Don’t make me hate you for the rest of my life.”
Hearing his words, a sharp, deep ache radiated from my c–section wound. My hands and feet trembled uncontrollably.
I took a deep breath and stared at him coldly. “You want someone who barely survived postpartum hemorrhage to donate blood right after she’s clawed her way back from death’s door? Have you forgotten that I am your Luna?”
Even my wolf, Daisy, howled in protest, her voice echoing in my mind. *Leona, you can’t agree to this. Your body won’t hold up!*
For a brief moment, a flicker of guilt flashed across Alpha Alexander’s eyes. But it wasn’t long before it vanished.
