82.Chapter 82
Sherry didn’t know where Christian took Michael. Maybe they went out to play, but Christian didn’t tell her where. She trusted him enough to let him take Michael out.
Teresa breathed a sigh of relief. “I feel relieved with you there. I’ll be back in a couple of days.”
Sherry chuckled. “Nothing happened with Mr. Lynn?”
Teresa asked, “What could happen? He’s a patient.”
They didn’t sleep in the same room at night when she stayed here. She slept in the guest room while he slept in his room.
Teresa hung up and walked back to the study. The phone on the table buzzed twice. It was Jonathan’s, and a text message popped up automatically.
It read: [You’re not answering my calls? If you don’t like Simona, I can introduce you to other women. Just don’t pine over Teresa. It’s been more than two years since the divorce. She’s not worthy.]
The sender was Irene.
Teresa sneered as she thought, ‘Oh, right. I’m not worthy.”
Jonathan came out of the bathroom and didn’t see Teresa in the study.
She was packing her bags in the guest room, ready to leave. Jonathan still had his arm in a bandage as he leaned against the door, blocking her path. “My arm still hurts.”
Teresa snorted coldly. “Then find a professional caregiver. I can’t take care of your forever.”
She still had her work, her life, and Michael to raise.
“Oh, by the way, your mother texted you. She wants to introduce you to other women. You should check it out,” she added.
He could clearly find someone better, given his conditions. Although he was divorced, he didn’t know about Michael, and he would never know. So that wouldn’t stop him from finding someone. It was like he was single anyway.
He was handsome, rich, tall, and had a nice personality. How could he not find the right one?
Jonathan’s gaze was filled with pain and sarcasm as he said, “Right. I don’t love your anymore. I just came back to Nareigh to torment myself. I was bored, so I still live in this matrimonial house after our divorce. I lose sleep because I miss you so much.”
“When I was away on a business trip and heard something happened to you, I dropped my business partner and caught the fastest flight back. When I heard you were short on cash, I sent you money immediately.
“I ate ravioli that was left out overnight and got gastroenteritis. I was hospitalized for three days and had to get IV drips. But you said you wanted hash browns and waffles, so I ran all over Nareigh to buy them and bring you breakfast.
“I went to your opening ceremony, but the traffic was bad, so I got out of the car. Then, I got hit by a bike, dislocated my shoulder, and couldn’t go to work for three days. This means I don’t love you, right?”
Teresa pursed her lips. His sudden seriousness flustered her. She was at a loss.
“When we divorced, you said you only felt touched by me and married me for that, not love. What about now?” Jonathan asked.
He locked his gaze onto her wandering eyes as if the moment she said she loved him, he would give her even the stars in the sky if she wanted them.
