Before the man could finish, Donald punched him in the arm.
Donald said seriously, “I’m not joking. She is my brother’s ex. If you even think about her, my brother will kill you.”
That man said, “Come on. Quit messing with me. You don’t have a brother. You only have a little sister, Cheryl.”
Donald sighed and spelled it out, “I mean my cousin, Jonathan.”
At that, the man’s grin disappeared instantly.
Everyone knew the name of the CEO of Horizonlead Group.
“Sorry. I was just running my mouth. Your cousin is not actually going to kill me, right?” said that man.
Donald chuckled and said, “Luckily, he’s not here, or I couldn’t save you.”
The other party patted his chest in relief and didn’t dare joke around anymore.
As for Jennifer, she picked up some fruit, pastries, and toys for kids, and then headed over to Teresa’s place.
But Teresa didn’t let her in. She stood right in the doorway to block Jennifer’s way.
Teresa said, “If you’re here to invite me to your wedding, I’ll be there the day after tomorrow.”
“I brought some stuff for Mike. I’m hoping I could see him,” Jennifer said.
“Mike is doing just fine. Don’t worry about him. You can leave now,” Teresa replied, starting to close the door.
Jennifer set the stuff down by the door. “At least take them inside for Mike, okay?”
She added, “Besides, maybe you can come to my wedding without Mike, I’ll take you both out for a meal another day instead.”
Teresa’s face darkened. She said expressionlessly, “Mike doesn’t need your charity. Spare him fake concern.”
Jennifer took a deep breath. Every time she and Teresa met, neither of them was in a good mood.
But Jennifer had watched videos online where sisters hugged at weddings and both cried their eyes out, and the younger one sang or danced for the
bride.
Those touching moments always made Jennifer wish she could have the same.
“You want me to dance for you at your wedding?” Teresa asked back. “I’m over four months pregnant. Do you want me to waddle out there and dance for
you?”
“Then just don’t wear something so casual that day and don’t go for a tight dress, either. If you’d rather sing for me, I’ll be really touched,” Jennifer suggested.
Teresa let out a cold laugh and said in annoyance, “I’m not good at singing.”
With that, Teresa slammed the door shut.
Jennifer stood there for a moment, and then she knocked and called out, “Don’t forget to bring the stuff inside, I’m off now.”

It was Sanford. He strolled over and greeted her. “Well, fancy running into you here.”
Jennifer was a bit confused. She didn’t know why Sanford came.
Sanford said, “I’m just killing time by wandering around. I’ve been hanging out all over Nareigh these days for your wedding, just waiting for the big
feast.”
Jennifer smiled. “If you don’t want to stay in the hotel, you can live in my hospital dorm.”
Sanford waved her off with a laugh. “No, thanks. I can’t stand the smell of disinfectant. It gives me the creeps,”
“By the way, Teresa can’t marry you right now.” Jennifer brought up Teresa. “I talked to her about it, and she said no.”
Sanford asked, “Is she still waiting for Jonathan? Did she have a kid with him? I don’t mean Isabel by the way.”
Jennifer raised her eyebrows and stared at Sanford.
Sanford became more serious. “I saw you bought some stuff and went upstairs to see Teresa. Did you pick up toys for a kid, too?”
