Chapter 467
Teresa shook her head. He really didn’t know.
Sanford frowned. He thought, ‘That’s his mom. How could he not know?‘
Teresa said, “He was always busy with work. When we got married, he was just a manager, right at the start of his career. His boss liked him and would often take him out on business trips.
“Every time Irene picked on me or said I wasn’t good enough, I never complained to him or tattled. He lost his dad when he was little, and his mom raised him on her own. I couldn’t bring myself to make him look unfilial because of me.”
“He lost his dad when he was a kid?” Sanford latched onto that, curled his lip, then spat. “Serves him right.”
Teresa stared at Sanford. “Why do you hate Jonathan so much? What’s your beef with him?”
Sanford was quiet for a few seconds. “I just can’t stand him. He acts like he’s better than everyone.”
“You’ve only met him a handful of times. Why judge someone you barely know?”
“Listen to yourself, always sticking up for him. You still have feelings for him, don’t you?”
Teresa suddenly went silent. She didn’t answer.
“He’s the CEO of Horizonlead Group now–status, money, looks, he’s got it all. He could easily find someone better.”
“You’re no slouch either. You’re gorgeous, have a great figure, and your personality’s even better. Honestly, I think you’re way better than Jonathan.”
“Good personality?” Teresa let out a self–deprecating laugh. “I’m not that nice. You’re friends with Hannah, so just look at her temper.”
“You mean Jennifer? She’s got a pretty good personality, too. Honestly, I think both of you are great.”
Teresa was speechless and remained silent.
It was getting late, the sky dark and heavy, looking like it might rain. Teresa asked Sanford where he was staying so she could give him a ride.
“I don’t have a place in Nareigh, so I’m staying at a hotel. Once Jennifer’s wedding is over, I’ll head back to Shaville,” Sanford replied.
Sanford sighed, sounding a bit disappointed. “I told Hannah I wanted to marry you. I even brought a gift for you. Do you agree?”
Sanford let out another sigh, his tone turning sarcastic. “Guess I just don’t make as much as he does, right?”
Hearing this, Sanford leaned back in his seat and glanced at Teresa. “So you want to get back together with Jonathan?”
“Are you planning to stay single forever? You don’t even have kids, and Isabel isn’t your daughter. You’re still young. Don’t waste your life on a man who’s not worth it. You’ve got your whole future ahead of you,” Sanford pressed.

Chapter 467
“Say one more word and I’ll dump you on the side of the road,” Teresa warned.
Sanford fell silent.
They drove into the hotel district, but Teresa didn’t stick around. Sanford joked about inviting her up to his room, but Teresa wasn’t about to go.
“You’ve still got time to think about it,” Sanford said. “If you want to come back to Shaville with me, I can book tickets anytime. My mom would be over the moon if I brought home a pretty girlfriend.”
“There are plenty of pretty girls in Nareigh. Go find someone else,” Teresa shot back.
Teresa was about to drive off when Sanford suddenly knocked on her window, looking all sincere. “Carf you get out for a second? I brought something for Isabel. Could you give it to her for me?”
