Jared watched as several people screamed incessantly from the burns they had suffered and asked coldly, “How did you know where to find me?”

The enormity of Cauldron Peak was unparalleled, and Jared and his group were the last to arrive. Yet, these guys managed to come straight for him from a great distance.

It was clear that these individuals had known about his location in advance.

Several alchemists were shrieking incessantly from being burned, and no one responded to Jared's inquiries at all.

At that moment, Felipe and Freya exchanged glances and swiftly drew their swords.

“Hey, you guys...”

Sigurd was about to speak up, but Felipe and Freya had already rushed forward.

Shortly after, all those alchemists were swiftly slain.

After taking out a few people, Felipe let out a cold huff. “Hmph, these folks were disrespectful to Mr. Chance. With such meager skills, they actually dared to covet the hundred-year offering from the Demon Seal Alliance. How utterly delusional.”

Sigurd frowned. “Why did you kill them when Mr. Chance was clearly still questioning them?”

Freya started her moral discourse again.

Sigurd was at a loss for words.

The others trailed behind Jared and didn't encounter any danger along the way.

As they were halfway up the mountain, they suddenly noticed a light curtain cascading down from the peak, and before it was a vast expanse of level ground.

In this open space, there were quite a few alchemists who had come to a halt, and some were lying on the ground, evidently injured.

After successfully treating Cedric, Jared became a distinguished guest of Allardland and quite the celebrity too.

Upon seeing Thaddeus, Jared took the initiative to step forward and greet him, “President Surrey...”

After all, he was supposed to assist the Zorn and Zeever families in reaching an agreement with Thaddeus.

Both of them were alchemists from the same place. It would be best if they could reconcile.

“Mr. Chance, I didn't expect you to be heading in this same direction. We really must be destined to meet again,” Thaddeus said in a cryptic manner.

Unfortunately, Jared didn't catch on. He glanced at Ernesto and Vincent standing behind Thaddeus and said, “I presume these two gentlemen must be the heads of the Boucher and Dupont families?”

“You're right.” Thaddeus nodded.

“President Surrey, there's something I've been meaning to discuss with you,” Jared said.
