Jared stood before the mouth of the cave, not daring to push open the door and step in. He missed his mother every second of every day, but when it was time to meet her for real, he did not know how to face her.

Just when he was about to push open the door at the mouth of the cave, it swung open from inside. On the heels of that, a woman in white walked out. Their eyes met and held.

Jared lowered his head, not quite sure how to answer his mother. If I were to say she hasn’t a single grandchild, would she be utterly disappointed?

Seeing that, Cecilia hurriedly spoke up for him, divulging, “Jared has never forgotten about you all this time, Mdm. Deragon. He vowed that he wouldn’t bed us before saving you. Hence, we’re still virgins right now.”

When Beatrice heard that, she eyed Jared and chastised, “Don’t you know how to weigh the situation, silly? Were you planning to remain childless for ten years if you couldn’t save me for that long? Let’s leave quickly. When we arrive back in Jadeborough, go all the way with them. With so many of them, I’ll likely have many grandchildren at once.”
