Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas) novel Chapter 215

Pete's open palm in front of my eyes slowly clenched into a fist.

He could not hold himself back. Breathing heavily, he said, "Turn around and wait here. I have something to take care of. I'll be right back!"

I grabbed his hand, "Don't go!"

"What are you doing? He—"

I interrupted him, "I know. There's no need."

To avoid looking pitiful, I put on an indifferent face. "I found those girls for him."

The girls' giggles pierced my heart like knives. When I spoke again, my voice had a hint of pleading that I had not even noticed. "Can you take me away from here?"

Pete took a deep breath to suppress his anger. Taking my hand, he grinned mischievously. "Of course I can. I'll go anywhere with you!"

His action made the group of celebrities behind him hoot and whistle teasingly.

"Mr. Shelman, is this your wife? Introduce us to her!"

"Yeah! You've been hiding her too well! She's beautiful!"

The name of the actress I had seen before was probably Gabriela. She was the only one who stood still and bowed politely to me.

I smiled and nodded at her. It made the guys cheer even louder.

"She's even prettier when she smiles!"

Nicholas tilted his head slightly. He then saw me in the car through the gap by Pete's waist. His lips curled into a mocking smile.

"Who's in the car? Your new girlfriend? Your father was just telling me the other day that you've been out on so many blind dates without finding anyone suitable. He wanted me to help out."

He patted Pete's shoulder. "Since you've found someone you like, I can rest easy. Your father was quite worried."

Pete shrugged off Nicholas's hand. His eyes narrowed dangerously. "So that's why my dad suddenly became anxious about my marriage. It was you!"

Nicholas smiled faintly. His words were directed at Pete, but his gaze was on me. "We're all family here. There's no need for pretenses.

"You're at the age where you should be married. As your brother, I can't just stand by and do nothing."
