Chapter 317
Chapter 317
“Oh, cut it out, Dad,” Jacob said, feeling like biting Brian for pretending not to know he’d been to the botanical garden.
Brian lifted Jacob by one hand and sat him down on the sofa, explaining patiently, “I just asked Jim about your plans today, but didn’t ask where you went, and definitely didn’t send anyone to follow you.”
He still respected Jacob’s privacy. Jacob snorted, clearly unconvinced.
Brian shook his head and didn’t say more, he just kept flipping through the photos. Seeing no sign of his son in any photo, he praised again, “You actually held back from appearing in front of your mother. That’s impressive.”
Jacob said unhappily, “Dad, don’t make me sound so thoughtless, okay?”
Jacob thought he’d been quite sensible lately.
“You indeed didn’t behave yourself before,” Brian bluntly pointed out Jacob’s past naughtiness.
Jacob hugged his arm and bit it. Brian let him fool around, not caring if his suit worth a million dollars might get chewed up.
After checking each photo and confirming Jessica had a good day, Brian sighed in relief. He said to Jacob, “I remember you wanted Mom to help you make a summer vacation plan?”
Jacob finally snapped out of his bad mood. He nodded and asked, “Dad, will you help me ask Mom?”
Brian replied bluntly, “No. I’m reminding you to go see Mom tomorrow. Since she was in a good mood today, it should last till tomorrow if no one upsets
her.”
Jacob suddenly realized. “Oh right! Why didn’t I think of that?”
Brian slapped his back and said, “Because you’re stupid.”
This time Jacob completely ignored him. He jumped off the sofa and rushed upstairs.
Brian shook his head helplessly. Jacob was still too young to be steady.
The next day, Brian drove Jacob to Jessica’s apartment. On the way, he saw a busy breakfast shop by the road, stopped the car, and took Jacob to queue
Forced to stand at the end of the line, Jacob thought of the large lunchbox of food in the car and asked puzzled, “Dad, didn’t you bring Mom breakfast you made yourself?”
Brian said, “What if she doesn’t like my cooking now? Having an extra breakfast is useful.” Anyway, he wasn’t short of money.
Convinced by Brian, Jacob queued up obediently. Just then, his vision went dark, and he looked up to see Brian stepping sideways to shield him completely with his shadow.
“Dad?” Jacob was confused.
“Keep your head down. Someone’s taking photos, Brian said in a low voice. He didn’t mind his own photos trending for company publicity, but Jacob couldn’t be exposed.
Jacob immediately lowered his head, trying to hide behind Brian. He didn’t want to be mobbed by fans.
A child star in his school often had fans bothering him, and Jacob had helped fend off crazy fans a few times.
“Dad, haven’t the photographers left yet?” Jacob wondered as they were almost at the front of the line, but Brian still hadn’t moved.

Chapter 317
Brian looked at the growing number of phones and felt speechless. He pressed Jacob’s head with one hand, quickly bought breakfast, and returned to the car. This scene was captured by passersby, uploaded online, and soon pushed Brian back to trending.
Netizen A: [Wow, Mr. Atkinson queued up to buy breakfast for his wife with his son. So sweet!]
Netizen B: [How do you know that’s his son?]
Netizen A: [The boy’s profile looks so much like Mr. Atkinson, and the age matches. He must be his son.]
Nétizen C: [His son is so good–looking too. Is this the power of genes?]
Netizen D: [What a handsome father and son.]
Netizen E: [I declare Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson’s love is the sweetest!]
Netizen F: [Agreed, but now I want to know where that breakfast shop is. It’s so popular, and Mr. Atkinson queued up for it. The food must be delicious. I want to try it!]
Netizen G: [Me too!]
Netizen H: [Same here.]
Netizen I: [Mr. Atkinson’s taste must be on point.]
Netizen J: [I need to know the breakfast shop’s location now, and the previous food places too!]
Netizen K: [I’m buying a plane ticket right now.]
Netizen L: [Me too! I must witness Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson’s love this year. I thought the online news was a publicity stunt for Atkinson Group, but it’s been almost a month, and Mr. Atkinson is still queuing for Mrs. Atkinson. It’s clearly true love.]
