Jessica looked at Wanda’s hand wiping her tears, only feeling a mist before her eyes.

“Jessi, don’t cry.” Stella hurried to take out a tissue and wipe her tears.

Jessica saw the water droplets on Wanda’s fingers and realized she was crying.

Wanda asked, “Jessica, are you okay?”

Jessica felt ashamed that someone her age needed comfort from a child.

She took the tissue from Stella, wiped her eyes hard, then smiled and said, “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

As she spoke, she strode outside evasively. “Come on, didn’t you want to see the lilies? Let’s go quickly. It’ll be noon soon, and it’ll be too sunny then,”

Stella watched Jessica hurry away, her eyes full of worry.

Wanda gently took her hand. “Don’t worry. I’ll cheer Jessica up.”

Stella came back to herself, raised her hand to fix Wanda’s braid, and said sincerely, “Thank you, Wanda.”

Wanda shook her head. “Since I promised Jake, I won’t break my word. Now, let’s go catch up with Jessica before she gets impatient.”

Stella nodded and took Wanda’s hand to chase after her.

Liam was still worried, so he followed Wanda from a distance. Wanda noticed but didn’t bother with him.

Wanda spent the whole day at the botanical garden with Stella and Jessica.

When they parted, Jessica even invited her to visit home sometime. Wanda immediately agreed and made an appointment with Jessica for the visit. Then they got into their respective cars and waved goodbye.

Jessica really left with Stella, but Wanda asked the driver to turn around and go back to the botanical garden after a while.

At the garden’s entrance, Jacob, who had been hiding all day, was fanning himself with a big sunhat used for disguise. Jim was holding a portable small fan and blowing it on him.

“I told you to come play with us,” Wanda jumped out of the car and shook her head at his disheveled appearance.

Jacob panted, “No, I can’t. Mom will be upset if she sees me. I can’t ruin her good mood.”

He hadn’t seen Jessica so relaxed and happy in a long time and definitely didn’t want to disturb her.

“Then just stay here and bake in the sun,” Wanda teased.

Jacob raised his hand to wipe his face and smiled foolishly, “It’s okay. As long as Mom is happy.”

“That’s so thoughtful of you,” Wanda said sarcastically. After a pause, she added, “But Jessica deserves your thoughtfulness. I can feel she loves you very much.”

“Really?” Jacob perked up at these words.

Wanda nodded. “Although she pretends not to care about you, some feelings can’t be hidden. You have a very, very good mom.”

Jessica was so good that Wanda felt a little jealous. Since she was young, Wanda had known her parents didn’t love her much. The only reason they gave her money and arranged for someone to take care of her now was out of duty.

“Of course! My mom is the best,” Jacob said proudly

Wanda wanted to punch him but held back.

She said, “Since you know your mom is the best, don’t make her sad again. Let me tell you, if you dare make Jessica sad again, I won’t helped arenas and I’ll tell her all the things you’ve been hiding from her.”

Wanda waved her small fist. If Jacob didn’t cherish such a good Jessica, she would make him regret it.

Jacob didn’t hesitate to say, “I promise I won’t. Besides, I dare not make Mom sad again.” If he acted as foolishly as before, his whole family wouldn’t forgive him.

Jacob quickly made more promises and gave Wanda the gift he brought. Then he stared at the children’s camera around Wanda’s neck. “Wanda, the photos…”

He had followed along and seen that Wanda and Jessica took many, many group photos that day. He also wanted those photos.

When she took group photos with Wanda in the afternoon, she thought she saw Jacob’s

She wondered if Brian had happened to bring Jacob to the botanical garden that day.
