Felix paused and turned to look at Carson, 

“You’re saying you have something I need?” 

Carson swallowed nervously, knowing this was his last card to play. 

“That’s right. I have your parents‘ photo album–the one from when they were young. It’s in my possession. 

“Felix, I’m begging you. For the sake of family, let us off this time. I’ll return the album to you untouched, I swear.” 

Felix smiled at the mention of that. 

He chuckled softly. “The photo album? Keep it. Instead of using it as a bargaining chip, why not look through it yourself? Maybe it’ll remind you of the people who helped you get to where you are today.” 

Carson’s face went ashen. 

Who could have imagined that the “worthless” Felix, who disappeared for three years, would return with such power? The wealthiest man in the city, Kane–any one of them could crush the Zeller family without a second thought, yet they all treated Felix with 

respect. 

But too bad there was no cure for regret in this world.

On his way home, Felix received a call from Kane. 

“Felix, we’ve handled everything with the Zeller family. There’s something I need to report, though. It’d be best if we could discuss it in person. When would be a good time for you?” 

“Come by my place,” Felix replied. 

Not long after, Kane arrived at Felix’s home. 

“What’s so important that it has to be said in person?” Felix asked. 

Kane’s expression was serious. 

“Daniel from the Dragon Alliance Lawson Clinic reached out to me.” 

Lawson Clinic? From what he knew through Kane, Dragon Alliance was a powerful organization, and Lawson Clinic was ranked fifth in its hierarchy–significantly more influential than Kane’s Oasis Clinic.

“Is it about Dragon Alliance?” 

“No. It’s about Daniel’s nephew,” Kane explained. “His nephew is coming to Avesburgh in a few days, and he wants our help. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but the reason I’m telling you is because his nephew has his sights set on pursuing Lady Summers.” 

Since Kane already knew about the marriage agreement between Felix and Xena, how could he not mention it? 

Felix had a strange expression on his face. His expression grew amused. “Anyone has the right to pursue whoever they want. Leave it be. 

He was clear that his relationship with Xena was nonexistent at this point. Unless Curtis woke up and demanded the marriage contract be honored, it didn’t concern him. 

“Understood, Mr. Zeller.” 

Meanwhile, at Lambert Mansion, Warren followed Thomas into the lavish living room, carrying a gift. In the end, he decided to sell the porcelain teapot to Thomas. He needed the money badly, after all. 

Though it had been a straightforward transaction, Thomas still considered himself indebted to Warren. First, he genuinely enjoyed such collectibles. Second—and more importantly–was because of Felix. 

Felix was someone who Wendy would personally accompany, so he had to be someone worth respecting. It was a favor worth keeping in mind. 

“Thomas, what brings you here today?” asked a middle–aged man, Callum Lambert, Hugo’s father. 

Everyone who knew Callum understood that he was someone who hid a dagger behind their smile. 

“Mr. Lambert, you know I’m the straightforward type, so I’ll get to the point.” 

“Then, let’s sit and talk. It’s rare to have you speak so openly.” 

After they sat down, Thomas introduced Warren, then got straight to the matter, just as he’d said. 

“I owe Mr. Quinton here a favor. And since your son is targeting his company, I was hoping to play the role of mediator and see if we can smooth things over.” 

If you carried enough weight, people would listen without you needing to say much. Otherwise, no matter how persuasive you were, your words were just empty. 

“Oh? Is that so?”
