Felix felt truly guilty. He had meant to make amends for past wrongs but seemed to be worsening the situation instead.

Felix’s anger began to rise. Ignoring the stares of others, he walked toward Joshua.

Suddenly, Felix’s hand struck Belle’s face. Then, he turned to Joshua. “Come with me.”

“Felix!” Belle’s enraged shout terrified the crowd, but Joshua held her back.
