The Primordial Record novel Chapter 1303

Rowan had frozen in place for a second because unleashing all that power from the destroyer had shattered his soul in its entirety and it was snuffed out like a candle flame inside a tornado. If he did not have a dimensional body that had a separate Consciousness Pillar, then he would have simply perished at that instant.

In that single second, Rowan’s soul exploded back into life once from a golden tinder into a vast sun.

With the blade inside the titan, the twisting and pulling motion made by Rowan was incredibly sinister. With billions of Will Chains flooding the body of the titan, the twisting motion interlocked all these chains into a complex knot, and when he pulled, Gothran’Inul exploded into pieces.

Rowan pulled the blade out so smoothly despite the chains, the blade cut a line through space in a nearly ninety-degree sweep after he pulled it out of the titan’s body.

The body of the titan was spread across millions of miles, his pale blue blood soaking the greedy eyes in the earth as they drank every drop, Rowan’s eyes were closed as he listened to the screams from the Eye of Time that broke out from the purple halberd, he did not know how much of the Eye of Time that were shattered alongside the titan’s body, but it must have been a considerable amount.

Although it might seem that it was the titan that had suffered the greatest damage here, the truth was that it was the Eye of Time that had borne most of it, because the Will Chains had been wrapped around the pieces of the Eye of Time that had been fused inside the titan’s flesh.

At the moment, the Will Chains that Rowan had plunged inside the body of the titan were returning, and clutched in their links were glowing purple pieces of the Eye of Time.

Rowan grimaced and let go of the destroyer before he fell to his knees clutching his skull. His weapon entered his body with its prize but Rowan could barely find the time to luxuriate in his victory as he curled up and shuddered as if he was being tortured.

His consciousness was being dragged down under the weight of the Eye that he had just torn out of the body of the titan, and Rowan was fighting with everything he had to keep his mind clear, he was not yet a complete fourth-dimensional being, and the strain of holding pieces of the Eye that he had just stolen was killing him, like an ant carrying a mountain, it did not matter that Rowan’s body was healing from being crushed, he was losing far more Essence than his body could replace, but there was no way he would spit out the pieces of the Eye he had just collected, his only hope lied in the plans he had for the Great Desert.

The halberd had been shot out into the distance by the explosion of the titan’s body, and it was screaming in pain because the Eye of Time had just suffered a great loss, however, this did not stop its perception from sweeping all around it in great fury and when it noticed the figure of Rowan shaking in the distance, curled into a ball and defenseless, and its screams abruptly ended.

Of course, the Eye of Time could feel pain, but it was not in the same way that mortals and immortals could, and so much of its anguish was mental and not physical, however, for a nearly perfect higher-dimensional entity like the Eye of Time, mental anguish was a billion times more painful than any physical malady could ever be.

The halberd vibrated before its form shifted into that of a purple crow, that was bigger than a universe, with a single flap of its wings the Eye of Time launched itself at Rowan, disregarding the healing body of the titan Gothran’Inul, it might be a powerful host, but under the repeated abuse from the Eye of Time and Rowan’s heretical weapon, even his eighth-dimensional entity would need a few moment to get back to a proper fighting condition.

With the defenseless body of Rowan, the Eye of Time had a better target. It did not doubt that this would be a trap from Rowan, because it could feel the pieces of itself inside of Rowan, and it was as if a balloon was filled with hot metal, and this stubborn balloon was straining to hold onto its content.

It was a miracle how long Rowan could last while carrying pieces of an existence like it inside of him, but the Eye of Time would not give him the chance to regret that decision.

The massive crow hovered above Rowan, greed and malice in its eyes, and opening its beak it shot down thousands of lightning blades; it did not matter if Rowan was defenseless, the Eye of Time had been taught countless lessons on the cost of underestimating this abomination, and he would tear Rowan apart until there was nothing but a shred of life left and it would possess that scrap.

"You are among the greediest of creatures I have ever seen."

"You have no idea."

The Eye of Time had blasted Rowan three more times with the lightning blade, and when it noticed how thickly the tentacles were blocking its assault, it turned towards the broken body of Gothran’Inul that had nearly finished healing, and swooped towards it, ready to repossess it once more, but the tentacles that were formerly defending Rowan shot forward and wrapped around the left wings of the crow and they dragged the shocked and furious Eye of Time back to the ground.

Shrieking in rage, the form of the crow shifted in midair, becoming a gigantic jaguar-like beast with seven heads and a thousand tails whose tips were sharp as blades. Furiously tearing through the tentacles that held it, the Eye of Time was still slammed into the ground with tremendous force, but the battle had just begun in earnest, for in this form the Eye of Time just took, everything it cut was not healing.

The battle between the Eye of Time and the World Stele shattered the realm around them, and Rowan’s gaze was focused on his palm… waiting.

"Lady of Shadows, Andar, Staff… I need you now more than ever. It would be a shame to have reached this point and not be able to complete the final stretch."

Rowan’s tortured mind, despite how hard he fought, became slowly covered by darkness. However, before his vision was drowned in darkness, he saw the alien figure of Nemesis, slowly slinking towards him through the devastation.
