Chapter 979
If Halsey were a little younger, she probably would’ve covered her mouth like a fangirl, screaming, “You’re so cool!”
Just then, Warren rushed over. Seeing Shaun fighting, he cursed, “You’re getting in a fight with my best friend? I’ll teach you lot
a lesson!”
Warren grabbed a beer bottle and jumped into the fight.
Halsey watched Warren. Even though he could be stubborn and was used by Chelsea, as Shaun’s closest friend, their bond was
unbreakable.
The scene turned chaotic-beer bottles smashed everywhere, and many people started running away.
Chelsea and Elise were still tangled up, but hearing the fight, some rich kids shouted, “Stop fighting! Something’s going down!”
Only then did the two reluctantly pull apart, looking messy and disheveled.
“What’s going on?”
“Mr. Lane’s in a fight!”
Chelsea and Elise froze. “Why?”
One of the rich kids explained, “I’m not sure, but I heard someone harassed Ms. Mallin, and he went after them.”
“Whoever messed with Ms. Mallin must have a death wish! Of course Mr. Lane would fight them!”
Shaun actually fought in a bar for Halsey?
Chelsea and Elise quickly rushed forward. When they saw Shaun, they were stunned. They had seen him cold and distant in the business world, but never fighting for a woman.
Especially for Halsey!
Jealous, they clenched their fists so tightly that their nails dug into their palms. They had been fighting with each other, but Shaun fought for Halsey-it made them look like fools.
They were nothing but a joke!
Halsey stood quietly in a corner. She didn’t dare move because she had no strength. And now, pregnant, she was even more careful. She had to protect the baby-she couldn’t cause Shaun any more trouble.
Suddenly, a bodyguard spotted Halsey and swung a beer bottle at her.
Halsey’s eyes widened, frozen in fear as the bottle flew toward her head.
Just as she braced for impact, her vision darkened for a moment. A strong male presence rushed forward, catching her safely in his arms. Someone wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her close.
The bottle shattered with a loud crash.
Looking up, Halsey saw Shaun’s black sleeve torn, revealing a long, bloody cut. It looked terrible.
He had protected her.
“You’re hurt!” Halsey’s voice trembled, her heart clenched tight as she quickly pressed on his bleeding wound.
