Willow was too embarrassed by the situation to think about how to answer their questions.
The truth was, she was not pregnant.
But she knew that telling the truth would only disappoint everyone at the table.
Melinda asked, "Don't feel embarrassed about this, Willow. Pregnancy is a big deal for every woman. So, how many months pregnant are you?"
Willow tried to shift the attention away. "You should ask Caspian. He knows it better than I do."
Willow also wanted to have a baby with Caspian, but he had been busy.
They had also been using protection, which meant that there wasn't a chance for her to be pregnant.
Caspian was stunned as he wondered what he was supposed to know better.
He noticed that everyone was looking straight at him.
"Caspian, Willow's too embarrassed to talk about it, so you spill the beans already!"
"Yeah! When did the two of you finally get it?"
"What are you hesitating about? Tell us!"
Caspian shook his head and replied, "You guys shouldn't be acting so nosy about our private matters."
"We're worried about Willow. We'll have to take good care of her, and we need to know how long she's been pregnant!"
"You should be more careful in treating your pregnant wife from now on."
Everyone at the table gave their comments.
Logan and Sherry were also extremely anxious.
Caspian realized that this wasn't something he could fool everyone over.
He had no other choice. "We've also just learned about it. So please calm down, you all."
Willow was stunned as she never expected Caspian to reply like that.
Considering that she wasn't actually pregnant, the lie would be exposed if her belly didn't grow bigger in the next few months.
Everyone was convinced by Caspian's reply since they had already seen Willow acting strangely earlier.
"We just wanted to be sure. We're all glad to know that Willow's finally pregnant!"
"That's right! And to learn of such good news on Marilyn's birthday of all times is such a blessing!"
"Hahaha! The Masseys will welcome a new family member!"
Everyone at the table was overjoyed.
Alicia exclaimed, "How about a toast to congratulate Willow?"
Kate explained, "Willow, you can substitute alcohol with juice for the toast since you're pregnant."
Everyone at the table raised their glasses and put all their hard feelings with each other behind them.
Logan kept looking for opportunities to strike up a conversation with Sherry throughout the dinner, but the latter kept ignoring him.
He felt helpless even though he still cared about her.
Sherry was both embarrassed and anxious.
Caspian wasn't able to do anything other than suppress his anger so as not to cause trouble for everyone at the table.
However, Willow had different ideas from Caspian.
Logan left Stewart Residence after the dinner.
Caspian, Willow, and Sherry had also returned to Riverside Villa.
After all the guests had left, the Stewarts started unboxing the gifts from Logan to find priceless antiques.
Kate was beaming with joy. "As expected of Mr. Massey!"
Melinda chimed in, "That's right! We will soon rise to fame and power if we play our cards right with the Masseys!"
Donald exclaimed, "Being connected to the Masseys of Dhord City would change our lives! Once it's official, I'm sure many other powerful families would try to befriend us!"
Marilyn explained, "Everything depends on whether Sherry will nod her head and agree to return to the family or not."
Kate replied, "Sherry's such a stupid woman. So many folks had wanted to break through into the aristocracy in Dhord City. And now Mr. Massey himself had come looking to bring her back to the family, yet she's still hesitating about it!"
Melinda added, "That's right! It's been 20 years, and Mr. Massey still remembers her. I would've accepted his offer in a heartbeat if I were in her shoes!"
Marilyn explained, "We'll have to help convince Sherry to return to the Masseys."
Carl replied, "But, Mom, I don't think it's a good idea for us to meddle in the Massey family's affairs."
"Don't you understand? Sherry might drag on the matter forever if we don't make a move."
Kate explained, "I think only Willow will be able to convince Sherry to change her mind now."
Marilyn asked, "Why do you say that?"
"I've noticed that Sherry treats Willow better than anyone else. I'm sure she would listen to Willow."
Kate could tell that Sherry truly favored Willow as her daughter-in-law.
