Chapter 257
Ryan and her caught up on recent events. Aveline had been feeling guilty all this time, for it was because of a single sentence from her that Ryan was exiled by Alexander. Ryan's voice was as gentle as ever; he had been studying abroad and had completely adapted to the new environment. He had recently met a girlfriend with a very good personality, and in a few years, he would be able to take over as the dean when he returned to the country, so this study abroad was not a bad thing after all. He arranged for Aveline to have a stomach check-up the next day.
"Aveline, you can step out and embrace life again, I'm really happy for you," Ryan said.
"Senior, I will live well, whether it's for a day or a month, I will have hope to greet tomorrow," Aveline replied.
A sweet voice came from the other end of the phone, "Senior, I messed up again just now...."
Aveline ended the call with a smile, "Go ahead, Senior."
That night, she rarely relaxed and took a bath. She poured herself half a glass of red wine, stood at the balcony, listened to the sea breeze, and raised her glass. She shouted at the sea, "Aveline, you must live well!"
The next morning, she took a day off, changed into a simple white dress, and took Maya back to her alma mater. In just a few years, the area around the school had changed a lot, with more shops and buildings. The morning breeze tousled the ponytails of the girls and the newly sprouting green leaves. Birds chirped and flew across the blue sky above.
The stove on the roadside stall was emitting wisps of smoke, and the air was filled with the scent of freshly baked buns. The sunlight danced on Aveline's bright face, everything was just right, allowing her to love this broken world once again.
Maya chattered in her ear, talking about past anecdotes. Occasionally, she mentioned a few things about Cameron, and a hint of loss would flash across Maya's face. Aveline patted her shoulder, "Ma..."
Maya quickly put on a smile, "It's okay, I'm not as fragile as you think.
I've been busy during this time, busy signing contracts, adapting to the new company, getting closer to my colleagues, and making myself excellent."
"I thought I would be very sad, but these sorrows have long been wiped out in the trivialities of life. Even the things I thought I would never forget have faded away in the days of yearning." Maya held Aveline's hand, "Aveline, I believe you can also move on. Give yourself some time, you deserve the best."
"Yeah, I believe so too."
She pulled the curtains all the way, reaching out to touch the light pouring in.
It turns out that when your heart is warm, so is the sunlight.
She tidied herself up and went to the company, starting a new journey.
In the company's lobby, she saw Alexander, surrounded by a crowd of admirers, in stark contrast to her lonely figure.
Like two parallel lines that could never intersect, this was the relationship she should have.
At this moment, she understood that the cruelest words in this world were not "I'm sorry" or "I hate you," but "we can never go back."
Aveline pressed the close button, forever separating Alexander's figure from the outside.

The readers' comments on the novel: Refusing To Be His Perfect Replica I Choose The Arranged Marriage
The plot is getting really inconsistent now! In the beginning when Aveline was dating some guy named Castro, before marrying Alexander, she had an elder brother supposedly.. but later she became an only child. Not to mention half of the beginning of the story was so mistyped. Also she used to be a jewellery designer, then overnight she became a medical student. Also 200 chapters later, Alexander is still hiding the truth that Jamie is her biological son. Also what a stupid new detail, how the hell did she get pregnant??? When Alexander was feverish, the writer specifically mentioned that they only stopped at kissing.. does kissing makes one pregnant?? Also, the psychotic bitch that Aveline had become, as if she would have allowed Alexander to have s** with her! Get your facts right writer if you still want your readers.. as this story is getting way out of context and just ridiculous!! I had decided to continue give this story another chance but now it seems that this was a huge waste of time!...
