Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1211

The person lying in bed didn't wake up until the afternoon, just a slight twitch of his fingertips giving him away. Brielle, who had been keeping a quiet vigil by his side, suddenly found herself at a loss for words at this sign of awakening. How does anyone come to terms with such a sudden, drastic change?

"Ramey, are you in any pain? Do you need some water?" she asked gently. His head was wrapped in so many bandages that only his chapped lips were visible, a sight that tugged at her heart.

Ramey shook his head, trying to speak but finding it too exhausting. He eventually gave up and closed his mouth. Seeing this, Brielle's eyes filled with tears, overwhelmed by guilt.

"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have made that call."

Ramey tried to look at her, but it was futile. After a long pause, he managed to rasp out, "I need to rest."

Brielle quickly nodded, not wanting to disturb him any further. As she moved to get some water, Ramey spoke again, his voice barely recognizable and grating like nails on a chalkboard.

"Ms. Brielle, you should rest too."

She was exhausted, her vision slightly blurred from what felt like a fever. "Alright, I'll come back tomorrow. I know this is a lot for you to take in. There's nothing I can do to make this right, but I promise to do whatever I can to meet your needs."

Out of her sight, a cold smirk played on Ramey's lips.

Leaving the hospital, Brielle felt dizzy. Spending the night in fear for Ramey had taken its toll, and now she had to return to the empty mansion. She rested her head on the steering wheel for a moment before driving back.

Back at the mansion, despite her exhaustion, she found herself unable to sleep. The vast bed felt too empty and cold. Eventually, she opted for a bath to ease her discomfort.

"Prince Arthur is a friend of my brother. I appreciate his help, but I could have dodged that bullet. In the chaos, we both ended up hurt."

Despite her anger, she knew she had to maintain a certain decorum due to her status. The online reaction was mixed, with some criticizing her for not appreciating Arthur's gesture. But Brielle stood her ground, responding:

"Why should I feel honored for his action? Many would stand in my defense. Just because he is royal doesn't diminish my worth. I come from the Lynch family."

Her final words carried weight. The Lynches were a powerhouse in North America, and her statement made that clear.

Brielle knew she had let her emotions get the better of her publicly, which was uncharacteristic. But then Dustin, her brother, came to her defense online, highlighting her significance and indirectly reminding everyone of her family's influence, especially with his mention of DreamTech Designs, adding a layer of prestige to her stance.
