Just One Kiss Before Divorcing Me (Martin and Calvin) novel Chapter 12

CH 12

Rin

The car pulled up at the drop–off zone to the international airport, and she looked down at her left hand. She was still wearing her engagement and wedding rings. He’d not asked for them back, but she knew it was time to part with them. As he opened his door to get out, she slipped them off her finger and looked at them as they lay in the palm of her left hand. They did not belong to her anymore.

She opened the car door and stepped out, allowed those rings to fall from her hand onto the seat she’d been sitting in, then just took a breath in as she closed the door and left that life behind her. She stepped up onto the footpath and stood waiting for Calvin to bring her, her luggage.

He placed it on the ground and rolled it towards her, “Do you really think that’s enough luggage for a month–long trip?” he asked as he stopped walking and looked at her.

“It’s enough for where I’m going.” She nodded and looked right at him, only to have him frown at her. He still didn’t want to kiss her and she knew it. She’d even dolled herself up to make it easier for him, tried to look nice for him to help make him feel it wasn’t a chore. Yet still, he just stood there and looked down at her.

A full minute passed, and she nodded a little, looked away from him and tried not to be angry. Her lips were pressed together as she held in the emotion of knowing he really didn’t want to kiss her even just once. A half snort came from her, and she finally looked at him once more.

“Is it really so hard, Cal?” she asked. “It’s just one kiss, you’ll never have to look at me ever again after this.

Do I really ask…” She could feel the tears welling, and there was a shimmer to her vision and she tried to blink

it

away “Too much of you.” She finally got out and heard the tremble in her own voice, as pain touched her.

He was still just standing there looking at her, and she knew that yes it was. Her eyes fell away from him, and she nodded “I see.” She murmured and reached out for her suitcase. It was time to leave regardless of him not holding himself to that clause he’d agreed to.

d hers His hand was on her face, he cupped it gently and turned it back towards him, and his mouth to the moment she looked up into his eyes, and he kissed her softly, but chastely. His mouth parted from hers, after just a brief moment, and she knew that was it.

She grabbed her suitcase and stepped away from him, only to find his hand clamped around her arm and she was spun around to face him as her tears finally spilled over. She’d not wanted him to see them, to see her heart stupidly break in front of him. But there it was. He got to see it as he looked down at her, and he was looking at her tears, not something she wanted him to see.

Then his mouth was on hers hard and demanding, his hand yanked her hard up against him, and he was kissing her properly, his tongue tangling with hers, as a hand slid up into her hair, and he was devouring her mouth with his own. Her hands curled into his shirt at his chest as she kissed him back, with all she had, kissed him like she loved him, with all she had.

She kissed him for the first time and the last time, a kiss goodbye. Her stupid tears wouldn’t stop falling, and she gasped and yanked herself away from him when she felt him start to grow hard against her belly. He was in love with some other woman, and yet still he could want her.

“You’re a bastard,” she dashed at her own tears.

“Rin, you’ll understand soon.” He reached out to brush her tears away.

She slashed his hand away. She would never understand him, how he could divorce her, but still want her? This was just like in the stairwell the very day they’d signed the divorce papers, so much hunger in his kiss.

Now, here she was feeling him all aroused by kissing her, but she knew he didn’t even want to kiss her, yet his body reacted to hers like it always did, and the way he’d held her, so close to him, all possessive like even.

“I will never understand you.” She grabbed her su and hurried away, muttering “Why I fell in love with

you? I should have known better.” She chastised herself because she knew it was the truth. She went right to the first class ticketing and stood in line. From the look she got from the lady there, she knew she looked a

mess.

She walked through to security and passed on through like so many others before her and headed for the first–class lounge to wait for that flight she was never going to get on. Went right to the ladies‘ room to look at herself. It wasn’t really that bad, but everyone could see she’d been crying, and her lips were a little on the swollen side from his kiss. She took a moment for herself to just breathe. At least now she knew what it was like to be kissed by him. He’d devoured her mouth like he did her most intimate parts.

She sat and had a cup of coffee in the lounge and waited for her flight to be called, walked down there and stood inline when first class boarding was called. Didn’t race to the front of the line like so many others

that she had, impatient to get on the plane. She wasn’t getting on this plane, but needed everyone to ti because that was her way out. If he checked, and she thought he would, he’d see her ticket had been checked in at the gate. That would allow him to be assured she left the country as he wanted her to.

She was standing there looking down that gangway to the plane and felt herself get hot all over, shook it off and told herself not to think about the confined space down there. She’d flown before, everything would be just fine. She handed her ticket over to the flight attendant who scanned it, and Rin tried to breathe through. the sudden sensation of rolling nausea that was starting to overcome her. She took a long, deep breath in, nope she was going to vomit and she knew it.

“Miss?

“Claustrophobic” she murmured, and she was. She hated small confined spaces more than anything in the world. “I might need a minute,” she dragged in a breath. “Definitely need a minute… May I run to the bathroom and come back? She asked.

“Yes.” The attendant nodded and handed her back her passport and ticket. “You’re already checked in just come back to the front here.“/
