CH 112
Calvin
He was a little on the nervous side this morning, and that wait until 10am was going to wind up his nerves
even more. He’d have much preferred to have a breakfast meeting with Marilyn rather than a brunch meeting, even though she was now allowing him and the twins to have free and unrestricted interactions with each
other over the past few weeks.
She’d also agreed to let him send pictures of his entire family to the boys, and he’d made an effort to get up
when the boys did, as well, when he was in Houston, so that he could greet them first thing in the morning, before they were off to school, because his usual wake–up time was 7am which put them leaving the house
for school 10 minutes later.
He knew quite a bit about the boys, what they liked to eat for breakfast and that they liked being outside a lot, riding their bikes, or scooters and playing soccer. Wil had thought that was absolutely hilarious; to hear that they played soccer. He had told him the twins were going to be jocks. Calvin had huffed a little but left it alone, all kids were active. That didn’t mean they’d grow up and want to play sports or be mean like some of
the kids he’d had to deal with during his schooling years.
He didn’t really know what to expect from this meeting today. He only knew that as of midnight last night that AVO and restraining order were officially over, and Marilyn had not reinstated a new one. So as long as
he didn’t screw anything up from here on out, everything could start to hopefully go smoothly from today
onwards.
He’d checked that app at 0930 and there was no movement on that phone. It was still at the house in
Bedford, and he had a feeling Marilyn had done that on purpose; left it there so that he couldn’t track her
arrival. He was, however, now sitting in the hotel restaurant’s casual brunch area facing the door she would
walk through.
He might not know when she’d get here, but he’d see her the moment she did arrive. He’d opted for casual
wear, just jeans and a cable–knit sweater. It was much colder here than it was in Houston, and he did not
want to appear formal with her. He wanted to give the appearance he was friendly and just a normal everyday
person.
Though Wil was dressed semi–formal in slacks and a short–sleeved dress shirt, but that was his usual attire when out with Calvin, even when not on business, he only ever truly dressed casually in his home or when out
with Anabell.
He saw her the moment she walked through the doors to the restaurant and nearly couldn’t breathe at the
sight before him. Both the boys were with her. Hold on to her hands; she’d brought them with her to this meeting and hadn’t told Wil or him. Not even the boys had texted him that they were going to be here today
either.
She looked almost like her old self in that soft pink jacket and with her hair only halflled up and the rest splayed about her shoulders. He had to remind himself that she was not Marrin any. e, that Marilyn had no
memories of being Marrin or not that he or Wil were aware of.
She walked across the restaurant without any hesitation, and he saw no bodyguards trailing her and the twins, and although she addressed Wil informally, she addressed him with full formalities. Calvin sighed

internally at the way she addressed him, but what more could he expect?
He wanted to hug her, for bringing the twins to meet him today, and it was a lovely surprise. But he also knew that he could not, and he was kind of left speechless at the gift she was giving him today, and that was exactly what it was. She was making an effort to show him she wasn’t going to be keeping him from the twins, regardless of how she felt about him.
He sat down and smiled at them; he had no idea which boy was which until those introductions had been made. They were indeed identical. “Hi.” He stated as they stared at him, and he got a timid sounding “Hi.” In
Despite all the texting they did, and photos sent between them, it was still nerve–racking for the two of them to meet him for the first time. He could even understand it. If he’d known they were coming he could only imagine how nervious he’d have felt. Those two little boys of his knew they were coming here today. He watched as Marilyn sat down and motioned for the boys to do so as well. She put them both on the same side as him, and she sat down across the table from him, next to Wil.
He’d not even really noticed that he and Wil had been sitting at a table where five people could be seated. He had just strolled along with Wil and taken up a seat next to the window, where they had a full view of the
While Wil had been ordering brunch to be delivered just after 10am and had stated, “We’ll take the table by the window please.” Calvin hadn’t thought anything of it, too preoccupied with his own thoughts to even think about how many seats were at this table, enough for all of them to sit here he now realised.
They laughed at him and pointed to each other and stated what he thought was their brothers‘ names, and he didn’t know if he actually believed them. They were smiling at him way too big. Calvin moved his eyes to Marilyn. “She doesn’t know, got amnesia.” The twins burst out and were suddenly slapping at themselves. They thought that comment was very funny.
rugged it off, wasn’t at all offended by their comment, and she didn’t look to be going to help him either. Wil, however, leaned forward and pointed at one of the boys. “You’re Callum.” He stated with a smile.
His eyes widened as he looked back at them and then Marilyn once more. She ju
