Chapter 306
Valeria tentatively asked Sharpson, “Dad, is this person really wealthy?”
“Extremely wealthy. He’s in the top ten on the global rich list–we’re talking serious money,” Sharpson said.
He continued, “Even Cassian’s net worth doesn’t come close to Dan Covey’s, because Ian Rhodes has three sons and the shares are split up. But Dan owns Covey Industries entirely by himself and controls seventy percent of the stock.”
“Wow, so we’re talking billions in assets?”
“Exactly!” Sharpson confirmed.
His own modest wealth was nothing compared to Dan Covey’s fortune.
Valeria’s eyes lit up with dollar signs. With that kind of money, she’d really hit the jackpot!
Whitney was the first to snap back to reality. “Honey, are you insane? You think you can just approach Anastasia and she’ll automatically help you? Have you forgotten how she and that old woman humiliated you the last time you went crawling to
them?”
Sharpson’s expression shifted–he’d been wrestling with exactly that concern.
If Anastasia shared the same family loyalty as him and Valeria, he probably would have told her about this reunion opportunity already.
Whitney pressed on, “Anastasia’s doing just fine now. She doesn’t need our help anymore. We’re the ones struggling! Look at poor Valeria–she’s sacrificing her body to give the Hales a child, and they can’t even be bothered to visit her once.”
“You know why that is?” Whitney secretly pinched herself until she started crying.
“It’s because the Hales look down on our family! They think your little company isn’t good enough for them!”
Actually, Megan didn’t look down on Kingsley Corp so much as she despised Whitney personally.
But Whitney didn’t need to spell out those details–a little embellishment would do the trick.
The important thing now was convincing Sharpson to give this golden opportunity to Valeria instead.
Whitney’s words were starting to sway Sharpson.
Seeing her opening, she doubled down. “Think about it–if Valeria had such a wealthy, influential uncle, wouldn’t that put us leagues above the Hales? At that point, forget the Hales–we could have our pick of even better matches!”
Valeria had been nodding along with Whitney until this last part, when her expression suddenly changed.
“No way, I only love Jasper,” she declared.
Whitney shook her head. “You’re such a hopeless romantic, just like me…”

Chapter 306
Whitney had almost said “nothing like me,” but with Sharpson watching, she quickly corrected herself.“…exactly like me falling for one person and never seeing anyone else.”
Sharpson was pleased with Whitney’s declaration of loyalty.
“Regardless, once we claim this wealthy relative, nobody will dare look down on us again!” Whitney said.
“Actually, when I was cleaning out old stuff, I found Sheila’s photo albums. I was going to throw them away, but now they might come in handy.”
“Why didn’t you tell me about this before?” Sharpson asked.
